Hawkstar collapsed in his den exhausted. What a day it had been, he hadn't enjoyed it too much but he had a duty to do. He watched Firelight enter and sighed. He was embarrassed to be treated like that by his clan in front of cats from another clan. Didn't they know how weak that made the clan look? Fools. Nothing but fools in this clan. he almost wished he was back in Fireclan. But he had a duty to do. And he would do it.

"Welcome, I'm sorry you had to see that..." he trailed off.

[Firelight]

Firelight lengthened her strides as she entered the den, sitting and curling her tail around her paws. She tilted her head, slightly out of breath.

"I don't know how you do that everytime. FireClan cats were not made for climbing rocks."

She blinked slowly. It had been such a long time since she had seen Hawkstar. It almost made her miss the days he was in FireClan. He hadn't changed a bit, and was definitely still handsome. She shook her head. Her warrior days were over, when she had a silly, childhood crush on him.

"It's alright, really. It happens to the best of us. So.. how have you been.. since..?"

She cut herself off, a bit hurt to continue.

[Hawktalon]

"Does it matter?" he sighed knowing he was being rude "I've been fine. Yourself?'

[Firelight]

Firelight looked at her paws, almost in despair.

"Look, I know you're upset, but I think you should put today's feud behind you. You're a great leader. We miss you in FireClan, but you're here for a reason. Just try not to be so down with yourself."

She touched her tail to his shoulder, before pulling it away again and laying down, resting her head on her paws.

"RockClan is a nice place."

[Hawktalon]

"Thank you, I appreciate that." and he did. He felt like he was doing everything wrong right now, even though he /knew/ he was doing the right thing.

"Anyway, let's get to business. I'm going to ask the obvious question. Why does Darkstar want this alliance?"

[Firelight]

Firelight's eyes gleamed, and she thought carefully about what she was going to say, picking each and every word individually. She couldn't be too careful in this circumstance.

"To be honest, I actually couldn't tell you. I don't know why Darkstar wants it, nor do I know what's in it for her. I only know that I am the messenger. Do you have any ideas? I've been trying to figure that out since I got here."

[Hawktalon]

"No, it's hard to guess why Darkstar does anything she does. If you do not know then I have no choice. I have to talk to her myself. Not now of course. It's too late now. I will go tomorrow. You are welcome to stay here for the night. I'm sure you are tired from the journey. You could-" he stopped himself, recalling he had an identical conversation yesterday. He smiled deviously to himself, shook his head and continued "You may stay here in my den, if you wish. I will retire to the Warrior's Den."

[Firelight]

Firelight flattened her ears back against her head. She wasn't entirely certain what he meant by that smile of his, but she was smart enough to know better. The cats fell all over each other for him in FireClan, and it was no doubt different here. As much as she did not like to admit it, Hawkstar was the definition of a player. Her eyes glittered, and she smiled slightly.

"Well, I had actually intentioned on embarking to oh my journey back to FireClan tonight, once the moon is at its highest peak.."

[Hawktalon]

Hawkstar shrugged. "Do what you must. I only assumed you would be exhausted after today's events. I know I am." he stated with a shake of his head.

"If you choose to leave, I suppose I will see you tomorrow then." he said staring at her, waiting to hear what she would say.
