(dat title is best title ever)
Redstorm ducked his head as he entered the eerie den. He hadn't been in here for...Moons, at least. The last visit was about worsening vision, which was thankfully somewhat stable. This visit was something a little less depressing, but bad enough to come for -- which meant it was a valid problem. Redstorm wasn't one to get medical help willingly.
He sat by the entrance of the den, leaning against the stone(?) walls. The reddish-brown tabby had come today about stiff joints. Red was in no way happy about the situation. He despised growing older, and having to come to his father for something so...Old sounding just made him feel pathetic and weak.
"Brightflame.." He cut himself up, refusing to sound anxious by calling out for his father. The least he could do was sit through the discomfort of stiff joints and wait.

"Watermint, a leafy green plant found in stems or damp earth. Usually chewed into a pulp and then fed to a cat suffering bellyache. Wild Garlic, rolling in a patch of wild garlic can help prevent infection, especially for dangerous wounds like rat bites, and it can be made into a poultice for the same reason. Yarrow, a flowering plant whose leaves can be made into a poultice and applied to wounds or scratches to expel poison. Looks like that's everything." He smiled, pleased with his knowledge of herbs before being interrupted by a voice. He sighed, "One moment, Redstorm." Bright took a quick count to see if if anything needed restocking and then entered the main den. Let's see...due to the unfocused expression, the way he has to squint a bit to look at something, and the unsure pawmarks he left from coming in, I would assume it's his vision that's bothering him...I should probably ask him anyways though... He smiled, "What seems to be bothering you?"

Redstorm waited quietly, twitching his ears only at the sound of his father's voice. Oh how the elder had such a twisted, odd little family. A mother that had just vanished, a father that became a Medicine Cat, and a great grandmother that despised him. The list went on, but to explain it all I would need an entirely new thread.
Finally Brightflame padded into the main portion of the den, and Redstorm could tell he had just been doing something with herbs due to the mixture of strong scents coming from the older-yet-younger tom's pelt. "What seems to be bothering you?"
Redstorm scoffed and got to his paws, slightly flinching as his muscled felt like they were locking up for a second. "Bad joints is what's bothering me." He mumbled, flicking his tail tip irritably. "Those stupid apprentices bring me the worst moss I've ever seen. I'll be lucky if I don't freeze to death in Green Leaf." Oh how Redstorm did despise the current lack of discipline and respect for elders. Especially when it began to mess with his health.
"Oh, and my eyesight is still bothering me a little." He added.

Brightflame gave an inner meow of happiness that he had gotten it right, but kept calm on the outside, "Yeah, the apprentices now spend more time trying to find mates and jumping off cliffs than they do on their duties. I remember when not doing my chores would have the back of my head swatted, and now they don't even care if the apprentices eat first." He laughed, "Not that I followed the rules when I was an apprentice. Blazefoot and I would just spend our time messing around and annoying the queens. Especially Nightflame Shadefrost. Now..." He looked Red over for a moment, "I can give you some poppy seeds to help with the aching and discomfort, and I think I can whip up something to help relieve the stress and tension in your joints, but as for your eyesight...there's nothing I can do. All I can do is recommend that you try not to strain your eyes too much." He said, flicking his tail back and forth sadly, "I'm sorry, but no herbs can help with that."
