Hummingpaw felt his tail around her and she felt herself begin to...purr? What? What was she feeling? What was she doing? Her heart lurched, telling her to go home, get some rest, figure her life out a little. But she didn't move. She sat there like a statue, sitting close to Brackenpaw. "Yes, they really are...." She sighed, avoiding his gaze by looking around at the fireflies that mixed with the stars. "You know, you can hardly tell the difference between the stars and the fireflies...it's incredible..." Hummingpaw mused, looking up still with wide watching eyes. That's what she was. A watcher. Hummingpaw watched things, but never did anything to change them. Though she put off a confident front, her self esteem was low and she felt like she could do nothing. And on this night, sitting there beside Brackenpaw, that's exactly what she did...she watched and waited. [/blockquote]

When she didn't look back up into his bright amber eyes he sighed, those were what gave his flirting a purpose. They were melting amber eyes, as if they turned your waking soul to flame at a glance. Then when Hummingpaw mentioned them looking like the stars he just nodded and flicked his ear, letting the silence do the work. After a bit too much silence though he broke it like ice, "Ready to go back?" He mewed, Bracken could already feel the tiredness setting into his limbs as he got to his paws and lifting his tail from Hummingpaw and gazing one last time at the fireflies.

Go back? He wanted to go back? Already? Quickly, Hummingpaw found the courage to make up a different route to her best friend's heart, for that is what she believed she was doing. "Yeah, let's go," Hummingpaw fake yawned. As she got up, their pelts brushed against each other and she felt her fur stand on end. She jumped a little because that feeling came over her again once their fur brushed. "Come on, lets go," she shook it off with a smile and a small laugh. Hopefully, he didn't notice the feeling that she got when their pelts brushed, but could he have possibly felt the same feeling when they had? Hummingpaw turned her head around as she pushed back the leaves revealing the exit. "Come, let's go," she repeated, this time with gleaming green eyes and no laughter, just a small, forever placed smile. [/blockquote]

"Thanks," he mewed, shaking off whatever tingly feeling he had had. What was that anyways? He didn't know and didn't think much of it. Setting off at a brisk press paw speed he slowed a bit and waited for the brown pelted apprentice to catch up. "Coming?" He asked, giving her yet another smirk, what was that the thousandth time? He needed some new looks.

"I'm coming," she purred following after him. Her plan formed in her head as she walked. It was a quick, innocent plan, that only she felt like she could pull off with him. Hummingpaw walked close beside her best friend in silence, looking around the gorgeous scenery as they walked. The lightning bugs were floating away from them, as we're her high hopes. But she kept a little but of faith in her plan, realizing that it could work as they walked. They were getting really close to the camp, and she readied herself for her plan. [/blockquote]

Brackenpaw noticed Hummingpaw getting distracted yet again, and as the near the gorse entrance he could feel tiredness sweeping over him. Going into somewhat shadow mode he blurred into the shadows, not allowing the cats on night watch to see him. "Come on," He whispered in a hoarse voice as he dropped into a hunters crouch. (Lazy)

Hummingpaw's smile brightened as she followed him into the night and back into the camp. Then, her plan was set into motion. "Goodnight, Brackenpaw, have sweet dreams," she purred into his ear quietly. Then, turning her head slightly, she licked him quickly on the muzzle before running off back into the apprentice den. Hummingpaw skidded to a hault by an abandoned nest in the corner of the den and hid there, trying to fall asleep with a smile on her face. Lets see how he sleeps with that on his mind, and later he could tell her how he felt about it. Though, strangely enough, she didn't even know how she felt about it. So she was confused....with a shrug, she fell asleep.

Brackenpaw stopped in his tracks and watched her run back off into the apprentice den. He smiled to himself and after a bit followed her in, curling up in his own nest somewhere close to Greenpaw and some other apprentices he didn't know. His muzzle was still a bit damp from her somewhat 'kiss'. Who's the flirt now? He laughed to himself before letting sleep wash over him like a giant wave of water.
