Cheetahpaw limped into the Medicine Cat den. She sighed. This place seemed to be her second home. "Hello?" she called. She winced as her paw sent another pulse of pain. Her paw was bitten hard, welling with blood, now it was swelling up. "I need to do something for my paw."

Clovepetal almost laughed when Cheetahpaw stepped into the nursery once again. "You seem to be pretty accident-prone," the medicine cat told her while walking over to escort the apprentice to a nest in the den. After helping her settle, Clovepetal padded over to the herb stocks. "So, what seems to be the problem?" She asked her patient tenderly.

(Okay I will) "I was outside" meowed Cheetahpaw. "I saw a mouse, and leapt after it. I thought I caught it between my paws when I didn't. Then I sunk my teeth in the nearest fleshy bit I felt. Then I realized it was my own paw!"

Clovepetal's brows furrowed together as she listened to Cheetahpaw's explanation. "Soo, you bit. . . your own paw?" She asked the apprentice with a disbelieving glance over her shoulder. "Wow, you really are accident-prone." The russet she-cat went on to gather the necessary herbs and cobweb. She chewed a small poultice of marigold to prevent any infection and then spat it onto a leaf. The head medicine cat brought the bundle of leaves and cobwebs over to the apprentice. "Hold out your paw please."

"Yes, I know." Cheetahpaw meowed. She stuck out her paw, which clearly had teeth marks, and waited for the sting that happened everytime the medicine cat added a poultice.

Clovepetal then began to apply the soothing poultice to the wound. Afterwards, she wrapped the paw with cobwebs. "Alright, you're good to go!" She smiled lightly at the kit. "Try not to bite yourself anymore!"

"Thanks, and I'll make sure if I catch that mouse I'll bring it to you!" Cheetahpaw meowed. She nuzzled Clovepetal's neck and leapt of the medicine cat clearing, hardly limping and calling "Diamondkit? My paw's fine! Now we can catch that butterfly!"

Clovepetal watched the kit scamper out of the den once more. She smiled fondly. Cheetahpaw was always so friendly.
Suddenly, her stomach growled noisily. 'Huh, a mouse does sound pretty good right now. . . '
