Are you allowed to be, for example, an ocelot [wildcat] or are you required to be a domestic breed of cat?

I don't think so. You can only be an ocelot if your mother is one, as that is a separate species of cat.

No, you cannot be any type of cat besides a domestic cat.

It says in the rules no separate species of animals. You can pick different breeds of domestis (Savannah, American Shorthair, Calico) but not different species. You may use different species to describe your cat's markings. (Example being stripes of a tiger, or cheetah-like stripes) but that's it.

I have seen many cas as Calicos, that seems to be a popular one. That is if you were planning to make an account for a new breed or anything, other than that, pretty much what eveyone else has said.
