The deputy cruised around camp, extremely bored if you must question. The feline had just arrived back home for a slightly extended self quest. but she was her now, and RockClan was in chaos. The warriors seemed as careless as the kits. But that was nothing she could not change. She could only straighten them out in the moment.
A stench smacked her in the face. It was unknown, yet familiar. It burned her nostrils. She could have sworn it was smoke, but it was indeed not such a thing. Sagefang chose to follow the scent, to see where it could possible have led too. It was leading to Hawkstar's den. She approached the den silently.
A sudden musty cough made her stutter step. Her eyes widen with fear, Lionclaw had contracted such a thing from the rouge era, it had never gotten this bad because they had the essentials ready at paw. The deputy shoved her way into the den, the sickness would not disturb her, she was or still should be immune to it. Her emerald eyes were glazed with such great shock. It had looked like Hawkstar was used as a moss ball to be played with by the DoomClaws.
"Hawkstar, you are ill," she said, "Why have you not told anyone?" she spoke with a furious tone in her voice.

Hawkstar was obviously not in a very fit state. His condition was annoying to him at best. Being a healthy fit cat he couldn't understand how he could have gotten sick in the middle of Greenleaf. What had he done to anger Cloudclan?
Don't answer that, he thought towards the starry cats above.
He rolled over with a moan and a cough. He thought it wouldn't be heard, after all none of his other coughing fits had. But, to his surprise, Sagefang, his recently returning deputy, had graced him with her presence. At least he thought it was Sagefang, he was having blurred vision and a stuffed nose but he recognized the voice even after all these moons.
"I have been mewling..." he had to pause every so often to breath "like a helpless kit...all morning...no one has come...until now." he finished with a gasp. Right now he was more achy then anything.
"Sunblaze....Sagefang...bring me Sunblaze."

The deputy looked at her dying leader. He wanted her to get Sunblaze. That would not do. Clan cats were unfamiliar with this sickness. It was getting worse she could sense it.
"Hawkstar, with all due respect, Sunblaze cannot help you. There is much you do not know about my past,'' she started it off there. "This isn't any ordinary sickness, I've seen it before. A special herb can heal you, one thats quite unknown to the clan blood. With your blessings I'll take a small party, into the rouge territory to find the herb." she finished. She hoped he would allow such a thing.
"It is your only hope, I need you to trust me." she said with fear, she knew the clock was ticking on his life.

NO I WANT TO DIE. KILL MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Hawkstar found it hard to concentrate, the sickness seemed to be cutting off his senses, hearing was becoming impaired on top of everything else. His senses weren't totally gone, just muffled. He could smell the fear radiating off of his deputy.
She explained what needed to be done and while Hawkstar didn't understand exactly what she was talking about he trusted her. Anything to end this nightmarish disease was fine with him.
"Go..." he replied "Take anyone...you want..."

"May CloudClan be with you." she purred and licked her leaders cheek. She rushed out of the den quickly. There was serious work to be done. It was dangerous work, but it had to be done.
