[Spottedheart]

Spottedheart flopped onto his nest. He felt empty, numb. "Where is Gracetail?" He asked no one in particular.

[Thornfrost]

"You don't sound too cheerful there, lad." Thornfrost observed, popping his head out from his nest. His one good eye shimmered with interest and pity. The tom's voice seemed to echo with the tang of a broken heart. He'd been there. "Anything I can help you with?"

[Spottedheart]

"No...." Spottedheart meowed slowly. He didn't feel like talking but atleast this cat was nice enough to ask. "Gracetail is gone. It's like she was never here at all." Spottedheart hissed softly.

[Thornfrost]

[Do you know what actually happened to her account?]

Thornfrost nodded in quiet understanding. When Littlewillow left him for the second time, he had been something of a zombie. But then, she had run off with his best friend, so that was understandable. As the tom continued to speak, Thornfrost's ears pricked, he knew the name.

"Gracetail. I haven't seen her in quite a while. She's your mate?"

[Spottedheart]

(Yes)
"Was." Spottedheart corrected. He let out a sigh. "She was my mate." Spottedheart finished. He had never felt so sad in his life.

[Thornfrost]

"Oh?" Thornfrost echoed sadly, flicking his tail out to touch the tom's shoulder in what he hoped was a comforting approach. "I've been there before, several times in fact." He meowed, sympathizing with the tom although it was obvious that the conditions were different.

"It will do you no good to mope over it now. Mourn yes, but surely you'd feel better with a walk or a hunt?"

[Spottedheart]

"Yeah, I guess." Spottedheart mewed. "I haven't hunted in some time." He added. It felt odd, he was a cat but he hadn't hunted. Very strange. His heart ached but he knew he couldn't let that stop him from feeding his clan. "You want to go hunting?" Spottedheart questioned.

[Thornfrost]

Thornfrost grinned and sat up as the tom suggested a hunt. Nodding his head in agreement, he flicked his tail for him to lead on. "A hunt sounds great."

Remembering that he had yet to introduce himself, Thornfrost dipped his head in polite introduction. "Right, right. My name is Thornfrost. And you are?"

[Spottedheart]

"Spottedheart" He meowed. He padded to the exit of the den.
