Mistpaw smiled and wondered what they could talk about. "What do you want to talk about?" She looked away from the flying insect to look at Lightningpaw.

He shrugged and flicked his ears. "I don't know. I guess...we could talk about anything. Our futures, our dreams. Anything." He looked at her, then back up at the butterfly. "Besides, looks like we've got all the time in the world before it," he flicked his tail in its direction. "Decides to go anywhere."

Mistpaw flicked her tail tip and curled it around her paws. "How has your training going?" She hadn't seen her mentor in a few days, but at least she had gone through battle training already.

"Alright, I suppose," he answered. "Foreststep is a great mentor, and I've learned a lot. Now I want to actually do something. I still don't know if I'm any good." He looked around until he found a small rock. "There! Let's see if I can catch this," he said, laughing. He stalked the rock, walking in a circle around it before getting into his crouch like Mistpaw had shown him. He leaped forward and landed. Right next to the rock.
"Well, that's disappointing," he said. "Although I suppose I should be happy I didn't land on the rock." he walked back to her. "How's your training going?" Lightning asked. "I hear you're almost a warrior now."

Mistpaw had spoken to Foreststep once or twice and she only considered him as an friend, nothing larger than that. She nodded at Lightningpaw. "It sounds like your mentor has been teaching you well. Yes, my training has been going great. I'm old enough to be a warrior, I just need to learn how to hunt and then it's my assessment." The gray she-cat smiled at the thought.

Lightningpaw smiled at Mistpaw. "Yeah, Forest is great. I'm glad to hear that about your training too, but that means you'll be leaving the apprentice's den and leaving me again." Mistpaw was basically his only friend, and as sad as that was for him, he wanted to be happy for her. "I'll be at your ceremony cheering for you!" he said. "That'll be fun." He looked back up to see if the butterfly had moved.

Mistpaw was glad that it was almost time for her to be a warrior but that also meant she would be leaving behind Lightningpaw and that is one thing that is going to hurt her the most. Since she does have a crush on the black tom. "Yeah, I don't want to leave you behind but I have to I guess. Don't worry, you'll be a warrior right beside me when you get a little older." She looked at her friend and licked him on the cheek.

He nodded. He knew Mistpaw was thinking very seriously about something again. She just had that look on her face. lightningpaw was really relieved, though, when she said that she didn't want to leave him behind. "Why so serious?" he laughed, poking at her with his nose. Change of topic. "That butterfly's going to get away."

Mistpaw didn't know why she always looked so serious when she was thinking, it was just something about her everyone seemed to notice. She laughed when Lightningpaw poked her with his nose. She looked up at the butterfly starting to fly away.

he liked when Mistpaw laughed. Then he looked where she was looking- at the butterfly, flapping its wings slowly, but still moving. "Let's go!" he said.
(1 more post and you're a warrior-age cat!)

(I'll be doing my assessment soon too.)
Mistpaw started to run after the butterfly, but then tripped over her own paws and tumbled to the ground. He shook her head and sat up. "I don't know why I do that all the time." She continued to smile anyway.

(Saw the thread ) Lightningpaw laughed. "It's fine. I've never seen you trip before." He walked up to her and waited for her to get up, not particularly bothered what the butterfly did. It was going too high now for them to do anything about it. They'd find another one later, he supposed.

Mistpaw put a paw on Lightningpaw's paw and smiled as she started to clean her gray pelt. "I fall just about every day."

Lightningpaw took his paw out from under hers and replaced it on hers. "It's alright. I know far worse warriors than that." He took a few steps forward, searching for something else they could do. "I haven't seen Forest today, so I think it's safe to do whatever without worrying about training. What about you?" he turned back to her.
