Sagefur woke up to the sound of rain batting at the roof of the warriors den. Water slowly dropped onto her left paw, but thankfully not on her mate, Fangheart. She slowly stood up, walked outside, and then quickly went back inside. Mouse-brain! Why would she just walk right outside when it was raining? She could be so stupid sometimes! She looked around the camp for something to do, and then had an idea. She walked over to the fresh-kill pile and got two mice, then walked over to the elder's den. "Moonpool!" Want to chat?, she asked.

(Yes a thread for me <3)
Moonpool had been sleepless for the last few hours, the rain was refreshing as it cleaned the air but it made a muddy mess and was extremely loud as drops beat against leaves. It was also much colder than it had been before the storm which was not to kind on his muscles. Lightning occasionally would flash through the sky and thunder would growl fiercely through the camp, the orange tom just watched the light-show in the sky with slight interest. A small drip of water landed on hi muzzle causing him to sneeze, followed by him shaking his head. The elder cursed under his breath as he glared at the leaking roof with narrow green eyes. He got up slowly and limped over to another spot in the den that was a lot drier. His leg had just gotten worse but he kept putting off a visit to Waspwing, he leaned over and licked the fur on the sore hind leg with a rough tongue.
Moonpool was messing with his hind-leg with his paw, wincing at certain touches, when Sagefur walked in. The she-cat was dripping with water and was holding a pair of damp mice in her jaw. The elder removed his attention from the injury and let out a small smile. "I am always welcome to visitors, come in Sagefur!" He mewed cheerfully with a hoarse voice.

She smiled as she heard Moonpool's response, even more that she didn't seem grumpy today. "Hey Moonpool! Well, I'm glad. Would you like a mouse?", she asked, dropping a mouse in front of Moonpool. "So I was thinking maybe we could just chat a little, I haven't seen you in so lo g! Not since your ceremony, anyway." Just the a drop of water splattered on her. She scootd over to a dryer area and joked, "What nice weather were having today, eh?

Moonpool let out a small rumbling purr as he gave her a firm nod, "I'd love a mouse, thank you Sagefur" The old tom sniffed the mouse and took a small bite. The mouse was a tad damp but it tasted fresh enough for his taste. He swallowed and returned his attention to Sagefur "That is awful nice of you to come for a chat" He flicked his ear an thought back, he could not recall speaking with Sagefur at all since his ceremony besides a greeting or so. "You are a busy warrior so I would not expect you to have time for many elder's visits" He commented.
"Ahh lovely weather indeed. Cold, damp, and perfect for ruining these old bones of mine. I see you have noticed the leaky roof..." He rolled his green eyes and let out a small chuckle. "I have been meaning to fix those darn brambles but I have yet gotten around to it, always busy cleaning the den since their are not many apprentices."

"Sorry about the roof, after the storm maybe I can get Ringpaw or Creekpaw to fix it. She sighed at the memory of the two apprentices. It seems like I never have an apprentice that likes me, Ringpaw hates me, Afterpaw won't train, and Creekpaw....well, she refuses to eat until she has learned to hunt. Just the other day she got do mad at me for telling her that she had to eat that she ran out of camp and almost got shredded by a patrol of ForeClan cats, I don't really know what to do with her. Any ideas?"

"Oh I would not mind the help but I can get the roof myself" he explained stubbornly as he looked back up at the dripping brambles above. Moonpool let out a sigh, he had his share of difficult apprentices... Tigerpaw had walked out on him and Featherfall was no walk in the park. "Just a struck of bad luck for you I guess, everyone gets an apprentice they do not see eye to eye with but refusing to eat is a bit drastic." He mewed with thoughtful eyes. Refusing to eat was not to uncommon but it was usually when a cat feels ill or has suffered a recent death. The tom flicked his tail and looked at his paws for a tad.
"It does not take long to teach someone to hunt so if you can not convince her to eat, teaching her as soon as possible might be the only solution. Is there any reason she won't seem to eat.... she might feel like a burden to the clan since she can not properly hunt yet" He questioned.

"Oh yes, whenever I ask her, she replies the same answer, basically what you said. She argues no matter what I say, it usually goes like this 'why don't you get some food, yo I'll need it today' 'excuse me mam, but shouldn't we hunt for the kits and queens first before we are fed?' 'Yes, usually, but it will be a long day and you will need to eat. We will get back to the camp late' 'it doesnT matter, the queens and kits c one first, not matter what' 'you have to eat, or to u will faint for CloudClan's sake!' 'I don't care' and then she bolts into a patrol of FireClan cats.", said Sagefur with a sigh. As for the roof, I will get right on it after the rain stops., she promised. She had to teach Creekpaw some techniques anyway, she needed to help the elders in some way before she could get her ceremony. That was just the way or the warrior code.Bur yes, you're right, it just seems like I always get apprentices that hate me, three in a row., she said, sighing again, yet laughing at the same time.

"Wow she is something.... I understand following the warrior code but that is a bit drastic."He commented with a shocked tone. "Hopefully she eats more than she seems to be no, though that is very nice of her to follow the code, feeding the WHOLE clan is part of the clan that includes feeding herself" He said rolling his eyes to lighten the mood, he was glad he had received at least a pawful of decent apprentices in the past.
"How old is Creekpaw, I can not recall how long ago she had her ceremony... do you think she is nearing her ceremony?" He questioned tilting his head. The old to, could not recall if the apprentice was just newly made or one of the older young ones.

Yes I suppose you are right, she said with a small sigh. As for her age, she became an apprentice maybe half a moon ago or so. she explained. How could she have forgot the ceremonies so soon? It had just been a short while ago. Well, elders were older and tended to forget things more often then younger cats. They could sort of 'get away' with that kind of thing. Oh, and the roof, I will get on it as soon as this rain clears up. she promised with a smile.

" Oh yes she was one of our younger apprentices wasn't she?" He mumbled, his ears flat in confusion. The old tom shook his head and blinked his green eyes gratefully. The tom smiled and sighed.
"Thank you Sagefur, you do not have to fix the roof if you do not want to.. I am sure I could manage i enough to stop it from leaking" He insisted looking up at the brambles and leaves above. The rain was starting to settle down but the roof needed t be patched up, Moonpool was just stubborn when it came to other's helping him. He was not the one to give in to his age and constantly ignored the fact that he really can not do certain tasks anymore.

Oh Moonpool, don't be silly! Of course I would love to help! And I'm sure Creekpaw will too. She said with a smile. Elders. Sometimes they could just be so stubborn. She hoped that this wouldn't turn into a big argument, but again, you never could know. I better change the subject, at least a little bit. Let's see, what is there to talk about.... she thought, brainstorming ideas. Maybe training tips? He must have had some good experiences sometime in her life. Yes! That was what she wanted to talk talk about. Because, after all, she had been an epic failure to her last two apprentices.
So Moonpool, I was wondering, do you have any tips for training so that maybe my apprentices won't....hate me as much?

" Tips?..... well lets see" He mewed as he flattened his ears in thought. " You know if an apprentice does not take liking to you sometimes you can not change that but something as simple as asking them what they would like to do or where they would like to go might just help get them on your side, do you tend to ask your apprentices what they would like to do often?" He asked cocking his head.
(sorry got lazy XD)

(Sorry for the late reply.)
Sagefur looked down at her paws. "You know, I guess you're right. I don't tend to do that, and it would help if I thought about her for once instead of myself.", she realized. How hadn't she noticed this before? She had thought she had been doing the right thing for her apprentice, but maybe she had been right all along. After all, it had happened many times before with other cats. "I guess I was just....just trying to do the right thing for her, when she might have been right all along.", she mewoed. "Thanks for helping me realize that, Moonpool."
(Sorry, something happened with the font xD)

(it is all cool XD) Moonpool gave Sagefur a comforting lick behind the ear, " You are a fine mentor and your mind was in the right place but with stubborn cats it is best to try and be lenient till they warm up you a tad" He gave her a small nudge as he chuckled a tad.
"Just remember not to let them do whatever they want whenever they want, being firm has its appropriate times" He reassured, flicking the tip of his tail as he glanced at the she-cat.
(It is fine, sorry for the lame replay XD)

(It's not lame, it's fine! xD How do you like my new template? Trick made it for me a while ago but I didn't know how to use it until now. xD)
"Yes, I suppose you're right.", she sighed, feeling a little bit better. Having an elder, a cat with expirience beyond most cats, was kind of conforting and made her feel like she was not such a horrible mentor as she had portrayed herself to herself to be. (Sorry, that makes no sort of sence whatsoever. xD) "And yes, I do recall times where being firm is necessary, I just have to recognize when to be firm or gentle. Well, anyway, what's been going on with you?", she asked the elder. Something interesting must have happened to her. Elder's lives weren't that boring. Or were they?
