Tired of sleeping, Quickfox stretched and sat up in her nest. The other elders would realistically be sleeping. She glanced to her left, at Moonpool. But she couldn't tell if he was or not. She was used to padding lightly over the ground after being a queen for so long, so she snuck out of the den, and leaped into the camp. She did still have some of her agility in her age. Looking up at the sky, she realized not even the warriors would be awake for an hour or two. The sky was a medium hazy blue. A few birds were already singing at this hour. But she was the only one out. Her paw pads were already wet from the tiny droplets on the soft grass. She drew her paw over her head, using the water to clean herself with. It was cold. She liked it, Purring, she rolled over onto the ground, getting her whole pelt's long cream fur a bit damp. “I wish I slept out here.” she mewed quietly to herself.

"If you had, you'd be as stiff as an elder my age," Gentleheart purred softly as she appeared from around a corner of the camp. As the eldest cat in the Clan, she had developed the habit of waking early to enjoy the pale morning sky. Not long ago she had realized that she might not have as many left to enjoy and the early start to the day got stiff old joints working by the time other cats were awake.
"The ground isn't as forgiving as a moss nest can be," a pearl of purred laughter ticked the old cat's whiskers as she sat next to the other elder. Gentleheart's brown and white tail curled around her paws and a few stray hairs drifted into the grass. The old cat's pelt was softer and thinner in her age, and she shed more easily than she had in the past.

Leafpaw padded up to the elders. Two sparrows dangled from her mouth. "Hey." She murmered, and set them down in front of them.
