Hawkspirit nodded. "Vaporcloud's right, Cheetahfur. You really do need to be more careful. And if your leg DOES go lame, you will still be Cheetahfur," he reassured his friend. Hawk gave her an encouraging smile. She would be okay. She would have to be.

Cheetahfur purred and licked Vaporclouds shoulder, then Hawkspirit's. "You guys are the best friends ever!" She purred. but then she added playfully. "But if my leg goes lame, YOU are going to be my crutch, Hawk!"

"I know all of that!" she purred. "But really, There is no need for battle now, is there?". She looked at Hawkspirt and suddenly she felt really self-conscious and lapped at a stray piece of fur sticking out on her shoulder. Did all of the cats who were crushing feel like this? She thought as she sat down. She itched to tell him but she knew it might kill their friendship and if that happened she would die.
"let's share a rabbit." she meowed, trying the break her feelings. she hauled a tan-and-white-and-black plump rabbit towards them.
"leaf-bare's coming." she announced.

She shook her head. "I don't believe there is need for a battle right now, we seem at ease. And I'm glad leaf-bare is coming. I am so ready for it again." She said to them, and blinked as a rabbit was drawn closer to Cheetahfur, by the spotted cat herself.

Hawk replied with a handsome smile. "I'm with Cheetahfur. My fur's too short for cold weather! Brr..." he said. He pretended to shiver as if it were already leaf-bare.
