Junipertree huffed grouchily as she padded into the Medicine Cat Den. Instantly her nose was bombarded with an aromatic mixture of herbs and poultices. This is ridiculous! she yelled at herself. Recently her muscles have been aching and her joints have been locking up. She supposed that it was do to a lack of proper exercise or overexertion. She figured she would just get a professional opinion. Patiently, she sat inside of the den and waited for a one of the medicine cats to assist her. Though she couldn't block out the thought: "Come on, I'm not getting any younger."

Waspwing wasn't typically a fan of Treeclan warriors that came to him for medical treatment. Mostly because they all came for the most idiotic injuries or illnesses. Like, really, you can't stay away from thorn bushes? You can't stay out of the freezing cold stream? Morons. But occasionally there would be one that came to him for proper medical needs, like Moonpool. Today he was faced with a newcomer to his den, Junipertree. He knew she wasn't overly obnoxious like some warriors, but she hadn't yet proved full maturity.
One thing that already annoyed him was the fact that she had come in and remained silent. He had no idea how long she had been sitting there before he finally noticed her out of the corner of his eye. With a small sigh and flick of his tail he hobbled over. "Ah, Junipertree, what brings you here?" He asked nonchalantly. No smell of blood, no sounds of coughing, congestion or runny nose. His only other guesses were belly ache, joint pain or some sort of mental illness (probably insanity) Hopefully it wouldn't be insanity or belly ache, as he was well out of patience for the insanity and juniper berries for the belly ache. Heh, giving Juniper a juniper, heeeh.

Junipertree observed Waspwing for a moment. She knew he had been a medicine cat for quite some time, but she had never made it a point to get to know him very well. She would have much preferred Fernpelt, whom she was quite familiar with. "Good evening, Waspwing," the calico warrior began. "I was just wondering what your thoughts may be on a problem of mine." She took a calming breath. "You see, recently I've been having aches in muscles and joint stiffness. I wanted to know if there was some way to prevent that or an medicine that would put a stop to it?" It was a statement, but she ended it as a question.

Waspwing "raised an eyebrow" figuratively at Juniper's problem, and simply shook his head. "Sounds to me like you're getting a bit older." He teased, padding over to his herb supplies. "Have you been getting good sleep? Not sleeping on any wet moss? Getting enough exercise?" The questions rolled off his tongue just as they always did when he treated cats with stiff joints.

Junipertree slightly growled in aggravation at the tom's "old" comment and shot a hard look at the back of the medicine cat's head. "I am not..." she grumbled with a huff. "I would get a good night's rest if my muscles and joints weren't killing me," she told him through gritted teeth. "The moss is fine, and I've been conditioning myself." She answered all of his questions with absolution.

Waspwing 'grinned' and grabbed some poppy seeds. "You'll have to take these for tonight. I'm, apparently, out of the herbs needed specifically for joint pains." He muttered, wondering how he could let such a basic herb go to waste.

Junipertree's right amber eye twitched. Out of an herb....? She glowered at the poppy seeds placed before her. After scrutinizing them, she lifted her scowl to the young medicine cat in front of her. He's the medicine cat! How can he be out of an herb?! The senior warrior sniffed derisively before muttering "Fine," and turning her gaze back to the poppy seeds. "And when, exactly, will you get these herbs stocked in your inventory?" She asked, scooping the poppy seeds towards her.

Waspwing narrowed his eyes, but kept his calm. "Soon." He couldn't help but say the single word through clenched teeth. "I've been rather busy lately, and I usually don't have to give these herbs out, not even to the elders, who are the ones that should be having joint pains. I apologize for not having it on paw at this exact moment." His tone was soaked in sarcasm, and he knew that this would become ugly soon. Oh well, he hadn't had a good fight in several moons.
