The white and black she-warrior flicked her tail as she limped into the medicine cat den. Her right front leg had been hurting all day and she didn't know what the problem could be. She had sustained a cut on it when she was out hunting but it could have been she had sprained a part of it as well.
"Excuse me,miss Forestbreak...I hope I'm not intruding if you're busy..." she mews softly into the den.

"No, I'm not busy," Forestbreak replied, glancing at the warrior. "Hello. I remember doing your ceremony. Ebonyblaze, yes? What seems to be the problem?" The medicine cat stood up, stretching out each leg, and then yawned. She padded over to the warrior and sat down.
"You seem to be limping," she stated plainly, her eyes on the cat's leg. "I take it that's what's wrong?"

She lifted up her paw to note the cut on it.
"When I was hunting,at first I thought I just fell and cut my paw...but limping isn't necessarily what I've felt when I've done that before...so I thought I should consult you..." she explains, her black and white, fluffy tail flicking.

Forestbreak leaned forward to inspect the paw more closely. "Hm, you're right. If it was only a cut, you wouldn't be limping. Can you wiggle the toes on your paw?" she asked, her eyes meeting Ebonyblaze's. She needed to make sure the paw wasn't broken. She doubted it, as Ebonyblaze would probably be in a lot more pain if that was the case, but she still needed to check.
"How did you fall? Did your leg twist?" she added, trying to rule out some more possibilities.

Ebonyblaze tries and wiggles her paw toes a bit, wincing slightly.
"It hurts a bit...but I guess it's not broke if I can move...I was chasing some prey down near a tree that had been uprooted...it caught underneath one of them and I was flipped on my back over it...it hurt more then than it does now..." She tries to explain.

"Definitely a sprain, then," Forestbreak said. She felt sick all of a sudden, which was awfully weird, since she'd dealt with infinitely more gory injuries before. Her stomach felt strange, as if there was a twinge. She began to stare off into the distance for a moment, deep in thought, and then shook it off. "Sorry. I'll give you a couple of poppy seeds and some comfrey, and then you can rest here for a sort while if you'd like. You'll just have to wait a few days until it heals."
She took some poppy seeds from her herb storage and pawed them towards Ebonyblaze, then some comfrey. "The cut isn't serious enough to require marigold," she added.

The warrior nods a bit, eating the seeds. The little things didn't have much taste to them....
"What do the seeds do again...?" she asks after swallowing, licking her lips. "And the comfrey...Shall I eat it or do you have to put it on my leg...?"
She didn't mean to sound annoying, really. Ebonyblaze was just curious about all these weird plants being pushed towards her.

"The seeds are pain relievers. They'll kick in in no time, but they'll make you feel a bit drowsy, as well," she warned Ebonyblaze. "Just eat the comfrey. It also dulls pain, but it works to repair wounds and damaged body parts as well," the medicine cat informed her. "After you finish the comfrey up, you can either stay in here, or go back to the warriors' den. But don't walk on the leg for a few days. It's not a bad sprain, and you're young, so it will feel better soon."
She thought for a moment. "Ah, yes. You also need to keep the leg elevated, so you can prop it on the rim of your nest, if you wish, or lie down and rest it on a rock." That was about everything, she thought.
