Echopaw padded nervously into the medicine cat den, nursing her injured shoulder. She breathed in the scent of herbs and glanced around nervously. She hadn't been here since she was a kit! "Hello?" she called. "Forestbreak? Clovepetal? I just, uh... Had an...accident," she finished lamely. She couldn't detect any scents, but the herbs flooded her jaws, blocking out everything else. (Shoulder wound, looks pretty gross, stings pretty bad, but not life-threatening)

Clovepetal responded to Echopaw's half-hearted call. "Oh dear," the head medicine cat said when she saw the wound on the apprentice's shoulder. "Let me get you to a nest, and then you can explain to me how this happened," she told her with a gentle shove toward one of the examining nests.

Echopaw stumbled towards the nest and lay down. "Well..." She hesitated, unsure about how to explain it. She didn't want Graypaw to get in trouble, but then again, he already was... "Well, I was just in the apprentice's den, talking to a new apprentice, Cherrypaw." She bit the inside of her lip and continued. "Graypaw... This other apprentice, well. You probably already know that. Um... He kind of just... jumped at us? With his claws unsheated?" She hurried on. "Well, he jumped at Cherrypaw. And I stepped in the way, and he clwaed my shoulder... And Cheetahfur sent him to Darkstar," she said hurriedly. Why was she protective of him. He had apologized. Whatever.

Clovepetal had turned away to gather the necessary herbs while listening to Echopaw's rushed explanation. A slim brow rose on her face as she pulled at the sticky cobwebs. "Is that so...?" the russet she-cat asked rhetorically. It wasn't exactly her place to issue disciplinary action, and it sounded as though it had been taken care of, so... "Well, it's no fur off your back, eh?" Clovepetal collected the goldenrod and cobwebs. "Oh dear," she muttered, realizing that she was running low on goldenrod. She'd have to find time to get more later. Turning to the apprentice, the medicine cat used a bit of wet moss to clean the blood off of the wound. "Well, now it doesn't look so bad!" she said optimistically, though the wound was still bleeding. "Alright, I just need to chew up this poultice and then apply the cobwebs and you'll be good to go! In the mean time, why don't you tell me why Graypaw attacked you?"

"Um, he said he was uh... Itching for a fight." It wasn't a lie, but it sounded like one. "He seemed to have gone a bit insane. I met him before, and he was really nice!" She shifted a bit as the medicine cat cleaned the wound.

Clovepetal hummed to show that she was paying attention to the young apprentice's story. In the meantime, she chewed the goldenrod into a goopey poultice. "Alrighty," she mumbled, smoothing the poultice over the gaping wound. The cobwebs were lied over that to stop the bleeding and keep the poultice from dripping. "Okay, looks like you're good to go!" She told Echopaw with a friendly grin. She indicated that the apprentice was now allowed to exit the den. "Oh, but before you go," the she-cat exclaimed,"don't worry about that tom. He'll get sorted out accordingly , and then he won't bother you anymore." Her voice was reassuring and her smile was warm.

"Okay, thanks." Echopawsmiled warmly at the she-cat. She was nice. "Okay.Bye!" She padded out of the den. [End thread, I guess]
