Adderstone slid quietly into the warriors den. It had been a few moons since he had put a paw in this place, and he glanced about, muscles hard under his heavily scarred pelt, ready for a fight as he always was; though he knew it would be unwise to cause a skirmish in the midst of his clan. At the sound of a snap, Adderstone whipped around and glared with fiery amber eyes. "Yes?" he asked in hardly more than a whisper, but one which held more than just a slight edge to it.

Cheetahfur looked up at him. "Adderstone?" she meowed, almost surprised. She had stopped wondering where he had gone quite a few days ago. She couldn't think of anything to say as she looked up at his vicious claws and strong muscles. Then only thing she can come up with is "Welcome back." she whispered in the same tone.

A wry grin spread across Adderstone's usually taciturn features. It had been awhile since he'd seen any cat, and he remembered Cheetahfur from kit hood. "Why, thank you. It's been some time, hasn't it?" he remarked, trying to control the joy, however slight, he felt at contact with another Clan cat; even if it was someone he'd had trouble with as a kit.

Cheetahfur purred. "Yes, it has. I'm afraid a lot has happened since you left. Ebonyblaze seemed to have taken a liking to Hawkspirit and Heatherpaw has abondoned you and is now Heatherflower, the nuisance of this den." she meowed, trying to inform hm of everthing that has happend in the last few moons. "Graypaw went a little mental and practically tore Echopaw's shoulder in half." Though she didn't know why he would care. She grinned. "Doesn't that remind you of two certain apprentice who in fact are standing her right now>

A few pieces of news shocked and saddened him, but, in all honesty, he was not totally surprised. However, being mean by nature made it easy to hide just about any other emotion but anger. Outwardly, he grinned. "It does indeed. Kind of ironic, isn't it, that it was Graypaw that caused our first fight, and now he's gone and made himself a new enemy?" Adderstone barely suppressed a harsh grin at the morbid humor that fate seemed to express.

She nodded. "Would you like to go hunting will we catch up?" she meowed, flicking her ears at the empty fresh-kill pile.

Adderstone's muscles flexed as he dug his dangerously long claws into the moss at the thought of a good hunt. It had been awhile since he'd done anything to help any cat, and catching up on Clan gossip sounded pretty good right then. Inwardly, he wondered if he was turning into an elder. "Sure, that sounds good," Adderstone replied to Cheetahfur's question.

"Come on, race you to the training hollow." she thought for a while before realizing that Adderstone didn't know that it was now infested with prey. "Diamondeyes and I laid out hundreds of acorns there and now it has hundreds of squirrels." she explained.

Confusion sparked briefly in Adderstone's dangerous amber eyes before Cheetahfur explained what had transpired. "Ah," he said. Knowing that Cheetahfur was among the fastest runners in the Clan, and he would most likely lose anyway, Adderstone pelted forward, using his long claws for grip. "Hurry up then, slow poke!" he called over his shoulder.

Cheetahfur let out an amused chuckle and leapt forward, full-pelt. She passed Adderstone and reached it before him, but just by a bit. She purred with admiration. No was was able to almost beat her that close. "Either you've gotten really fast or I've gotten really slow!" she purred. (Now that I think about it, I feel like your always on!"

(I have it set so that it only logs me off if I manually log off) Adderstone stopped, panting. He stretched his shoulders. "Eh. I've gotten a bit faster." He paused again to gain his breath. "But you seem to take long runs a lot easier," he finally puffed, letting out a gruff, harsh sounding purr and loosing a smile that, in his opinion, would appear semi-handsome. But he wasn't exactly used to smiling.

Cheetahfur smiled back, shaking her head a bit. "Nah, I really live up to the name Cheetah. I'm best at short-run. Hawkspirit is better at long-run." she flicked her ears at a russet-brown creature near an oak tree. "Squ-irrel" she gasped, still out of breath.

"Faster than me," Adderstone let out another rough purr. At Cheetahfur's exclamation, Adderstone snapped to attention. In a flash, he had pushed off with his powerful hind legs and landed square on the squirrel, breaking the creature's spine. As he landed, however, the impact sent him off balance, and he rolled into a heap of leaves.

Cheetahfur leapt over and brushed off the leaves on her friend (? They are friends, right?) "You okay?" she meowed, nosing him up and sniffing around for injuries. She caught a branch and tugged it off his pelt.

(Yeah) Adderstone let out a sneeze. "Yeah. Fine. Thanks," he said, ruffling his fur and tingling with emarassment. Looking around, he saw no other prey. "Oh. It appears I may have scared the squirrels," he remarked, but let out a rough purr at the sight of his pelt.
