The she cat's eyes glazed over with pain as coughs racked her body. The usually shimmering fur on her shoulders was left dry and wrinkled. Briarkit's nose was streaming. She felt hot, and she couldn't cry out for water. She could barely get herself to the medicine cat's den without the aide of her peers. She collapsed on the ground, panting. "Wasp...wing..." She lay limp, waiting for a few, waiting for Waspwing.

Waspwing looked at the..Old...Kit in annoyance. "Aanndd this is why I tell cats to come to my den before almost dying." He hissed, grabbing some catmint and bringing it over. "Eat this. It's the best herb for your coughing, and I'll go get some things for the runny nose." He explaining, touching her forehead with a paw. "And the fever."

Briarkit coughed feebly. She wanted to thank the medicine cat, but couldn't. All she could do now was chew the herbs brought to her and lay. The catmint had a delicious flavor. Still, it was difficult to swallow. She soon felt the sweetness fall down her throat. She shut her eyes, waiting for Waspwing.

Waspwing grabbed some feverfew and INSERTRUNNYNOSEHERBHERE for Briarkit and passed them over to her. "You look like you'll get your ceremony any day now, but I'm assigning you to stay in my den for a few days, just to make sure you don't pass on your illness." He mewed.

Briarkit was too tired to care. She fluffed up her fur, her body aching with cold, and fell asleep after eating the feverfew.
