I've just been noticing that some characters have purple or red eyes. Is this actually allowed?

No, usually a staff member will see this and private message them. Sometimes staff don't always catch it so if you ever see something like this and you see the member is still saying they have red, purple, pink eyes, just pm a staff member, they will be thankful for your assistance. ^^ Did you see an account recently that still has them? If so, if you could link me to the account via private message that'd be great.
We don't allow purple, pink, etc. Because it's not realistic for animals to have that.

You can, however, have a really mystical blue eyes that may look a little purple in certain conditions, and red eyes are usually colors closely related to red, not bright red, yet realistic.

Erm.. Not entirely. It's preferred if you just keep them blue. Red and purple are highly impossible even if you say it's a different shade and isn't actually that color. Staff prefer if you stick to the regular colours because cats, under any circumstances, never have purple or red eyes.

Just to add on,
silver eyes (according to Darkstar) are allowed. So there are your mystical eye colors.
ALLOWED EYE COLORS:
Green
Yellow
Amber
Brown
Blue
Silver
One of each (This is technically a rare occurrence, but whatever)
'Blind' eyes. So like foggy or something I don't know.
