Frostpaw limped a bit to the medicine cat's den. She wasn't limping because her leg was injured, she just didn't want to take any risks. Some kit named Brackenkit had jumped on her and bit her for no apparent reason, except that he was a vicious little cat. But Darkstar would take care of him any minute now. The cut on her shoulder wasn't deep, but Frosty still was worried it could get infected and she waited patiently for the medicine cat to check it. She licked her wound to clean it while she waited.

Forestbreak padded out from the back of the den, flicking her tail back and forth. She'd seen the apprentice come in, and as she got closer, she immediately noticed the cut on its shoulder. It looked like a bite mark, and fortunately, a relatively shallow one. The tabby knitted her brow. "Who did this?" she mewed, assuming it was a cat and not a more vicious animal that had caused the injury.
Meanwhile, she glanced over at the wall of herbs, scanning the neat piles for dock leaves. Her gaze landed on then quickly, and she stood up and hurried over, plucked the leaves from their place with her teeth, and stepped back over to Frostpaw. "This probably won't get infected, but it's always good to treat it anyway, to be sure. Is the wound fresh, or has it been there for a while?"

"Brackenkit. He just walked over and stalking attacking me, claws out and everything. Cheetahfur got him to stop and is taking him to Darkstar though," she mewed, wincing as the bite started to sting. "He has small teeath, but they sure pack a punch," she joked.
Frosty watched how Forestbreak knew what herbs to use intently. She didn't know how she remembered the cures for so many injuries, but she was glad that they knew their stuff. "I got over here as soon as I could, so, yes the wound is very fresh," she answered.

"Brackenkit? I believe I've met him before. Rude little thing. Darkstar will be quite effective when it comes to punishing him, though. She's known to eat unruly kits and apprentices," the she-cat chuckled with a smirk. Forestbreak noticed that Frostpaw was wincing with pain, so she picked the dock leaves back up. "Kit teeth are known to hurt," she mewed through a mouthful of herbs.
It was a good thing that the wound was fresh, or else it might have been more difficult to get the herbs working. She began chewing the leaves into a poultice, the taste not bothering her in the least as a result of working in the den for quite a while. When she was a novice medicine cat, her face had always been warped in a grimace when she had to chew poultices.

"If a kit bite hurts this much I don't even want to know what a real cat biting me would feel like," she joked again, staying cheerful. This bite wasn't going to keep her from being herself. Frosty watched as Forestbreak chewed up the poultice, bracing herself for the sting that she would feel when it was placed on the wound. At least, she was told it stung a lot.

"It's not that bad, unless they've got a crazy strong jaw," she mewed. "Which some cats do." The medicine cat let out a quiet laugh through the mouthful of poultice. After she was done chewing, Forestbreak spat it into her paw. "This will sting a bit," she informed the apprentice, beginning to apply the poultice to Frostpaw's shoulder.
Gently dabbing the wound with her herb-covered paw, the tabby swept her other paw through a tangle of cobwebs and held it up, balanced in a careful crouch.

(OMG SORRY I THOUGHT I REPLIED ALREADY! >.<)
Frostpaw braced herself for the burn she was expecting, hissing very quietly as the herb juices soaked into the cut. After it stopped stinging, it started to feel less painful than it was to begin with, and Frosty opened her eyes again. Forestbreak didn't seemed to be finished treating her, but she didn't think that whatever else she had on her paw was going to hurt nearly as much.
"Thanks," she mewed.

"You're welcome. It looks like the herbs are working," she purred, stretching the cobwebs out with both paws. "Hold still." The medicine cat carefully leaned forward and patted one side of the cobwebs down to the right of the wound, then pulled them across, covering the wound, and patted down the other side to the left of the wound. Next, Forestbreak smoothed down the freshly applied cobwebs with one paw, and then she hopped back down onto all fours.
"You're all stitched up, kid. Don't reopen anything," she advised.

Frostpaw looked at what Forestbreak was doing, and made a note to be careful with her shoulder for a bit. "Thanks again!" she mewed when the medicine cat seemed finished. She gently put her leg on the ground and put some weight on it to test it before standing up again. Heading out of the den, she called, "I'll come back if it doesn't get better!"
