Clovepetal turned when an apprentice padded into her den with a shoulder wound. "How did you receive this wound?" Clovepetal asked the apprentice.

Clovepetal nodded understandingly. "Alright then. It's just a scratch, nothing too major," she told the apprentice with a nice smile. The medicine cat then gathered the required ingredients from her stores. She picked her usual remedy for a mediocre wound such as this; a sprig of goldenrod and a bundle of cobwebs. The russet she-cat diligently chewed the goldenrod into a fine poultice. "Okay, I'm going to need you to turn so that I may apply this to your wound."

Clovepetal applied the poultice to the apprentice's shoulder wound and wrapped it in cobwebs. "Well, everything seems to be in order. You should be free to go, but don't exert that shoulder too much. It is only a minor scratch that should heal in a few days, and your chances of infection are slim to none; however, we don't want the cobwebs or poultice to come off. Basically, just don't jostle that shoulder around, and you'll be fine," the medicine cat told the apprentice with a polite smile.
