ok, i feel dumb asking this, but how do you put a link down, without having the actual link name in it?

For example: Cherrykit, you're not posting enough. 

I could just click on Cherrykit, and it would take me to her account. How do I do this?

Are you asking how you tag someone? If so, just put: Tigerkit. If you mean just a normal link put: [url=url/linkyouwant]what you want it to be called[/url]
