night-time hunt [open]

[Onyx]

Onyx quietly padded out of the dens, careful not to wake any of the other DeathClanners. Once he successfully strode out of the dens, he padded across the main clearing to the swamp, hoping to catch something this hunt. His ears twitched as he heard a mouse scuffling around, looking for food. 'Now's my chance!' He thought. He quietly dropped to the ground, shifting his weight onto his paws. Then he pounced, and quickly killed the mouse with one, swift bite.

Victory twitched one long ear. Someone else was here. She sat by the swamp, staring out at the expanse of murky, polluted water. Not even thinking, just... sitting there. But now someone else was here to ruin her meditive state, so with a swish of her light grey tail, she stood up.

They weren't that far away. If she listened hard enough, she could hear their steady breathing. She had no idea who it was, and had no way to tell, for there was no wind on this brisk night. She came in seeing distance, and saw one place tom with crystal amber eyes piercing the night. She licked her paw casually and brought it over her ear.

[Onyx]

Onyx twitches his ears. Someone was watching him. He quickly whipped around and saw a grey-white she-cat in the distance. He picked up his mouse in his jaws and padded across the swamp right in front of her. His amber eyes gazed into her eyes as he said, "Who are you!?"

"Victory, and you?"

There was nothing in a name. He couldn't get anything out of my name, right? Couldn't use it against me. Thee is no point in hiding a name, yet so many cats out here seem so hostile of it.

Her clear blue eyes stared back, and she twitches another long ear

"Onyx." He said. "What has drawn you out here so late at night? I know you're not hunting, because you haven't caught anything, or it just means you're a terrible hunter."
He started to lick his ruffled chest fur, after he dropped his mouse. Once he stopped he asked, "you hungry?" As he pushed his mouse towards her.

With a small hesitation, Victory padded over. She sat down, and swished her tail, causing dust and leaves to stir up. She leaned down to stiff the still warm carcass of the minute creature. I look up at you through my eyelashes.

"I hope you haven't dunked it in the swamp or anything"

I leaned back, staring at you. I press my claws into the moist soil. The swamp behind me bubbled menacingly

"I don't know why I'm here. Kind of peaceful, I don't know? Maybe it's just these fumes."

I twitched my little pink nose with a little disgust. The air reeked of something like methane. The water was so deeply polluted, I wouldn't doubt it would be near radioactive.

What was I doing? Maybe I was just waiting for something to wash up to shore.

[Onyx]

"No, I didn't dunk it in the swamp, besides, I can catch more." He said. Onyx sniffed the air and smelled something like rabbit. "Rabbit!" He whispered. He dropped down into a crouch and start slowly making his way towards the rabbit. The he jumped and landing on the rabbit, killed it with one bite. "See." He said motioning towards the rabbit. "I caught it no problem.

The smell of the rabbit hung in the air, smelling absolutely delicious. Beneath her fur, her ribs were hollow. I lean forward and pick up the mouse by the tail and move it closer to me.

"What's a rabbit doing out here?"

I leant down and took a bite of the mouse and felt its heat in my mouth. The taste of food danced on my taste buds. I hadn't eaten in a while. I licked its bare bones clean.

"Thanks"

[Onyx]

"No problem." Onyx said. "And rabbits sometimes show up around the swamp." Oh! Want to do something fun? Let's go explore the alleys in the twoleg town!"
