Shadowpaw lay just outside the entrance to the apprentices' den, head tilted up to look at the pale evening sky. His icy stare reflected the rays of the sun, and his pelt blended into the shadows. Behind him, he heard a crackle of branches at the entrance. He turned, only just making out the silhouette of a cat in the darkness. "I'm sorry," he started, his voice cool and polite, "did you need to get out?"

Reedpaw yawned as he exited the apprentices den, stopping just before he stepped on another cat.
"No..." He started squinting his eyes. "I was just gonna go for a walk.." Then he stopped, how dumb was that? He DID red to get out, when he said he didn't. "I guess." He sighed. "But you weren't in the way." He added.

looks up from her nest RiverPaw gets up and is about to go out of the den when she sees a flash of blue eyes, ( looks closer) and rilieses that it was a cat jumps back. " stammers im sorry i did not see you, and adds did i step on you im so sorry" and she looks down emberessed . are you ok stops to give him a chance to speak ( waits) and then adds "i don't think i have met you what is your name? and adds im RiverPaw"

Rainpaw padded into the den. Her gray-and-white pelt was frizzed with snow and melted ice. She flicked her fur out, and it sprayed all over the other cats. "Sorry!" She mewed, her eyes sparkling with wit. "Hey Riverpaw."

Shadowpaw's gaze flicked from cat to cat, cold and analytical. "Well, so long as I am in nobody's way," he responded after a moment, his voice as detached as his stare. "I am Shadowpaw," he added, knowing someone had introduced themselves, but not remembering who; therefore, instead of addressing one cat, he addressed them all.
