Right, so the last tribe failed. Spectacularly. So we're trying that again with a bit lower entry standards.
Basically, the Tribe is somewhat of a fusion between the Tribe from the books and a general loner group. Do not assume that everything works like in the book, though much of it does. Significant differences exist, though they are generally at the higher levels and do not immediately concern regular members.
Intratribe Differences
First of all, the Tribe is a group that is between generations. There are two different social segments of the tribe.
The first segment of the tribe is the older members, the ones descended directly from the established membership of the tribe. These are those who have always lived within the tribe and know of no life beyond it. Generally, this is a very traditionalist part of the Tribe although they are generally welcoming of the new arrivals because Ragabash has stated his approval, though some question his judgement in private.
The second segment of the tribe are the new arrivals, those loners that have accepted Ragabash's invitation to join the Tribe. The tribe had been steadily decreasing in size due to fertility issues for some time, which made Ragabash decide to open it up to all loners. These new arrivals tend to be more experienced with the outside and are often loyal to Ragabash himself rather than the position of tribe leader that he represents.
Hunters, Guardians and Shamans
The Tribe is divided into three different groups of cats, each with a specialization.
The largest group are the Hunters, the ones who hunt for prey and feed the Tribe as a whole. Hunters, especially under Ragabash, have also been increasingly used for scouting duties and contact with other cats outside the tribe. A majority of new arrivals have become hunters, blostering their numbers considerably. See the dedicated Hunter entry for more.
The second largest group are the Guardians, the ones who defend the Tribe and ensure it is not conquered. Guardians tend to be more traditional than Hunters and boast the smallest percentage of new arrivals. See the dedicated Guardian entry for more.
The smallest group are the Shamans, the dedicated healers and spiritualists of the Tribe. The Shamans are in charge of both medical duties and religious duties, serving as something similar to a Clan Med Cat but with more diversity of skill. Generally, a Med Cat will have more overall experience and skill than a Shaman, but a Shaman will be better at a specific skill than the average Med Cat.
The Territory
The Tribe is centered around a large farmhouse, where the majority of it sleeps and lives. It is not however limited to this farmhouse, and like Deathclan many members (especially ex-Loners) prefer to make their own personal dens elsewhere.
The territory around this farmhouse is quite rich in prey, especially in field mice and rabbits. More on this will be covered in the dedicated Hunter entry.
The territory also has several areas where important herbs grow, some of which are far more common here than in clan territory. More on this will be covered in the dedicated Shaman entry.
The loner territory is to the near west of the Tribe's territory, and there are also several twolegplaces nearby that contain kittypets. The clans are separated from the tribe by the rest of the Farmlands (Loners), while Deathclan is separated by the tribe by the Barrenlands (Rogues).
