short posts whooo
Lyric sat near the river, yawning. After the rain shower last night, the humidity left her feeling nasty and groggy. The she-cat sat by the river upon hearing a noise.

The slight noise of rushing water sounded around me like blood was rushing through my ears. I poked my head through some bushes, a figure up ahead peaking my interest. I perked my ears and crept over, not really trying to stalk or be too quiet. I dipped my head to her and crawled down towards the river. "Hello..." I muttered in a deep croaky voice.

So, it was a cat. Lyric turned her head, seeing the black pelt of a tom she did not know. The gray and white she-cat nodded to him in greeting, flicking an ear as well. "Hello. I am Lyric. Am I in your way?" she asked, standing as though she intended on moving.

I sniffed and twitched my tail as I dipped my head down for a well graced drink for my always dry throat. I looked over my shoulder at her, water droplets flinging off of my muzzle like splashes of crystal. I shook my head at her. "Holly. Elite," was all I stated before sitting down laxly. I looked up at her with my head cocked to the side, silent, but questioning. What's up?

"Ah, you work alongside my father? Excellent. Lyric, Royalty." she meowed, her personality a bit more cheerier. "I had the worst sleep last night, and waking up to humidity isn't helping at all." she meowed. Lyric heaved a sigh before sitting down again, staring down at the water that flowed in the river in front of her.

Royalty, hmm? Related to the leader, huh? Quite a high standard of cat I was next to then. I looked over at her, nodding with empathy at her little statement about the humidity. The temperature really was bummer, especially when you had dark fur. "Makes you just want to run to the top of the mountains," I said, nodding my head as if I was agreeing with myself.

"I wouldn't mind being up the mountains right now." she meowed, giving a mumbled about how being a shorthair didn't help her much. Lyric's gray fur, which covered most of her body, trapped her like she was in a furnace, cooking until she was cooked enough to be served and eaten. Bad analogy.

"It'd be a dream," I said, taking a few desperate licks to my fur. I frowned and stood up, not being able to bear it. I walked forwards, towards the river. I dipped my paw in and sniffed. The current was weak this morning. So, I edged myself in, giving a sigh of relief.

Lyric stifled a smirk and laugh when Holly began to wade into the water. The gray and white she-cat settled into a laying position, dipping her white-socked paw into the water as she watched the black tom. "Not afraid of the water, I see. How brave." Lyric purred, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

I looked back at her with squinted eyes, having the sun shine down on me was not the easiest method to see with. I snorted at her comment and shrugged. The water didn't bother me, it was what I drank and washed off in anyhow. "Colder..." I muttered wading around near the shallow edge.

"I am not a huge fan of water. I will stay here. One paw in is just enough for me." she meowed, flicking her tail at him behind her.

I raised my brows at her. Suit yourself, Miss Royalty. I waded down farther, swiping at the flickering little slivers of fish swimming away. I slammed my paw down on one and brought it up, the wiggling thingy flinging water about everywhere. I reached out and smacked it again, the creature rolling onto the shore. I huffed and climbed out of the water. Catching fish was too much work.

Lyric watched as the tom began to hunt a fish. Hunt. A. Fish. Why in the world would someone do that? Fish were weird, salty, unappetizing. At least, they were to here. "Congratulations. You proved to be aquacat."

"Greatest supercat alive," I said as I shook myself off, purposely trying to make a majority of the water land on Lyric. "Oops," I meowed blankly, using the ultimate poker face as I settled down and poked the fish now dead from lack of water.

"Hey!" she cried, shaking her own fur before scrambling away from him to rid herself of the water. Lyric wrinkled her nose at the fish, lashing her tail
