Reedpaw then stiffened as Horizonpaw
fell back and whimpered, not wanting to practice battle moves.
"We can do something else, if you'd like."
He mewed. Not wanting to scare the younger cat
in any way.

"N-no I want to do this .. sorry Patchstorm has my fur in knots .. he threatened me today and its had me tense about any battle all day. But lets do this! What we gonna start with first?" he asked.

The yellow tom shook his head "Nothing" he said and blinked "Most I know is a crouch .. and that's a kit-hood crouch." he said.

Reedpaw flicked his tail.
Everything was so complicated, he didn't know how to start.....
"Well," He began, pretending he was on his first
training session with his own apprentice, "There's
the move Leap-and-Hold. Idealy for a smaller cat facing a larger
opponet. First, You jump onto your opponet's back getting a grip with unsheathed claws,
and in this position, your in range to give harsh wounds. It's
easy, once you start practicing." He mewed.
"My mentor Shineheart told me, to watch out for the
jump and roll counter move, and get free before you get squashed.
It's a move they do when they roll over, and try to squash you.
That's the 'If' about this move." He mewed. Panting himself,
happy for the pause, he made sure Horizonpaw was keeping up with
the information.

Horizonpaw tilted his head "So the leap-and-hold. You leap on your attackers back and with claws out have them wrapped around your attackers neck in which gives you a chance to give them harsh wounds. But they could do the jump and roll move, which is where the make it where your trapped under their back and the could crush you so you have to roll out before they get the chance?" he asked.

"Perfect!" He smiled.
You sure do take on fast." He winked.
"How about another move, maybe a little more basic?"
He twitched his ear as he suggested.
"This is called the play dead. When you are in a struggle
in a battle you most likely can't get out of... go limp.
If, or most likely when your opponet loosenes they're grip,
throw off your opponet by pushing them off you. Then, you'll
be the denominater of the fight." He mewed. This time
shpwing him what the move looked like.

The tom blinked "So in a way, its a trick. If you play dead they think they win and so they loosen to get off and attack someone else in which is your chance to strike with using a barrel roll and then the leap-and-hold?" he questioned "A lot of these moves can go together from what I'm hearing and seeing" he mewled.

The tom shook his head as head and blinked "You looked a little .. dizzy, is the heat getting to you?" asked the yellow tom and crouched down taking out a mouse as he blinked. He turned to him and smile "Thank you for doing this Reedpaw." he mewled.

The tom shrugged his shoulders and settled down in front of Reedpaw looking at him "Reedpaw, will we still be friends when you become a warrior and I'm still a apprentice?" he questioned with a slight smile and then leaned his head down taking a bite of the prey.
