Not one for silence [open]

[Stryke]

Stryke lay in a small patch of sunlight, streaming in from an opening on the second floor of the barn. He was thinking about leaving to hunt, the intense heat of the sun becoming a bit uncomfortable for him, when he heard the rustle of hay behind him. He turned and, seeing that it was a cat who carried tribe scent, called. "Hello. Did you want something, or were you just sort of wandering?" His tone was curious, as he was unsure if he had seen this cat before, and so waited for the cat to respond.

[Alina]

Alina leaped through the hay sending it to fly around ever where. She padded forward shaking her paws. She padded around the tom as she faced him. She sat down a few tail lengths away from him. "Nope just wandering around." she meowed as she looked up seeing a piece of hay rest on her head. She shook her head sending it to fall of from her head. "Anyways Hello there stranger. I'm Alina of falling star in twilight, and you are." she meowed dipping her head in greetings.

[Stryke]

Stryke bobbed his head slightly as well, returning the greeting. "I am Stryke. Nice to meet you, Alina," he replied.
(bit short, sorry)

[Alina]

'Nice to meet you too." She meowed as she swiped her tail over her paws neatly. "So what rank do you have to this tribe?" she asked. "I'm a guard." she meowed as she wondered what he was. But she had a pretty good idea that he was a prey hunter. 

[Stryke]

Stryke stood up, stretching his tawny pelt in the light, and padded into the shadows, where it was cooler. "I'm a hunter," he said, and let his gaze study Alina. He could tell she was a Guardian, her muscles prominent, though not in a bad way, while his build was sleek, his muscles more wiry.

[Alina]

Alone nodded her head slight at his answer, she was right. "So... How is prey running?" She asked not knowing what to say next. But she said something to keep the conversation going.
(Sorry short)

[Stryke]

Stryke shrugged, curling his tail around his paws. "Pretty well. Honestly, it isn't even a challenge when I hunt near the barn. I usually hunt farther away from the territory, where prey's a bit...smarter," he said, after having found the right word. "So how is- uh- guarding?" he added, the tone of his voice rising in a question at the end of his sentence. He wasn't entirely sure of what the duties of a guardian entailed.

[Alina]

Alina nodded her head slightly. "Well that's good. So your always up for a challenge then." She meowed with a slight hint of amusement. "Guarding has been good nothing yet to possibly harm the tribe." She meowed slowly as she noticed he didn't really know what we did. "We stand guard near the entrances and protect the tribe. If somthing jnvades or try's to harm the tribe then it's our duty to fight it off or drive it away. We also go with Prey hunters and protect them and watch over them when they hunt for prey." She explained. "But other then that we never get a chance to see the land around it we don't go outside much." She meowed Alina always wanted to see how it was like outside other then around the barn.

[Stryke]

Stryke smiled, feeling slightly embarrassed that he hadn't known what guardians did for the Tribe. "Ah. I see. So then you're our fist lines of defense," he said, his smile widening slightly. Regarding her remark about the outdoors, Stryke was shocked. "That's terrible. It's amazing, beyond the barn. It's much more open than it is here," he remarked, his thoughts drifting towards the fields beyond the territory.

[Alina]

Alina laid down tucking her paws neatly under her chest. She looked over at Strtke as he spoke. "Well you must really enjoy begin out thier." She meowed with a smile. "Yeah,'I know I've always wanted to go and explore and see the territory for myself. But I'm only able to see it when we go of with the prey hunters." She meowed with a slight frown.

[Stryke]

"I do. Its great," Stryke replied, snapping out of his thoughts. "And that must suck. I can't imagine not being able to go into the territory surrounding us," he added.

[Alina]

"Yeah I know." She meowed with a sigh. She took one paw out from under her chest as she played with a pebble she found on the floor. She rolled her paw around and the pebble moved along with her. She moved it forward then backwards but then it rolled away. Before she could catch it. It rolled over to Stryke. "Mind if you  pass it over." She meowed

[Stryke]

Stryke shook his head, swatting the small stone back in the direction of the other cat. "So then what do you usually do, if you can't leave your post?" he asked, his tone inquisitive. He couldn't imagine only being able to leave the barn unless you were on a guard detail, and even then, he doubted you could really enjoy it.

[Alina]

Alina watched the pebble as he swatted it back towards her. She smacked her paw over the pebble a slight smile spread across her face knowing she caught it. "Well we usually try to make it fun in a way. I like to guard outside around the barn and explore a little while I do my duty. A few others do so to." She meowed as she kept her eye on the pebble. "But at night when almost everyone is asleep besides some of the guardians we sneak out into the territory." She meowed as she looked up at Stryke.
