| Open for anyone, though preferably cats who haven't met Drought yet. I'll ask that you attempt to match my reply lengths, and keep somewhat of a posting order. Now closed to others; two roleplayers is enough~ |
It was a fairly quiet day in DeathClan. A light rain was drizzling down on the evergreen branches, causing the occasional droplets of water to drip to the ground. Despite the fact that much of the prey would be hiding from the weather, Drought was hunting. He roamed the swamplands, keeping low and steering clear of the soft patches of mud. Many cats got stuck in the muck here, especially if they didn't know what they were doing. But Drought was the king, and he had no intention of making himself a fool.
He was starting to consider turning back, seeing as he wasn't catching anything. However, a sharp hiss made him stop in his tracks. The black-and-white tom leaped back just in time to avoid the snapping of a snake's jaws. "Fox dung!" he spat.
Drought knew that this wasn't a poisonous snake, but it was still plenty deadly... especially given its size. As the serpent slithered out of the brackish water and toward him, he could see that its body was the length of several felines.
It was clear that the snake wouldn't let him go without a fight. Baring his fangs, the DeathClan leader darted forward and slashed at his scaly foe. After drawing blood, he moved to distance himself, but was stopped when the creature started to wrap around one of his hind legs, squeezing it tightly. That was going to be an issue...

Cyra groaned as a light rain began to fall again. It had lightly rained all day with a few moments of dryness in between. She had been exploring Deathclan's territory trying to find good places to hunt, when she wandered over to the swamp. The place was filled with terrible mud puddles that spread out to cover the ground. She did her best to test the ground she walked on as she went. She had heard stories of cats falling into the mud and not being able to escape. She shivered at the thought and felt a sense of eeriness being around the puddles. She definitely didn't want to be in the swamp while it was raining. She began making her way back to her den when she heard voice not to far away. Cyra whipped around to find the voice's owner and spotted the fearsome looking tom that could only be Drought. What is going on she wondered watching her leader as he struggled with something she couldn't see. She began trotting towards him when she spotted a dark shadow of movement. Cyra gasped at the sight of an enormous snake slithering its way on the ground. The creature was much bigger than the young she-cat, even bigger than Drought. The snake gripped around Drought's leg and Cyra felt a moment of panic. She began to run towards her leader bounding over small puddles along the way. Cyra leaped at the snake with her claws outstretched. She felt the snake's scaly skin in her paws and dug her claws in deep. Her attack wouldn't be enough to kill he snake but she could tell that the snake had loosened its grip on Drought's leg. She jumped back into a defensive stance preparing herself for the snakes attack

(This may be a little shorter then your posts, my phone has a crappy keyboard and I dont have my computer working yet.)
The sounds of rustling came from the swamp land. After the rain had started, she slept so much better. Her bright aquamarine eyes looked around waiting for someone to appear. She heard a cuss and then a snakes hiss.
Her instincts kicked in and she crept along, searching for the source. Her eyes came across a black and white tom who appeared to be stuck with the snake. Before she could jump in to save him, another warrior ran for the snake and began batting at it.
It didnt appear to loose its grip on the black and white toms leg, but Keira knew something had to help him get loose. She jumped out of the brush and scaled the mud around the swamp with ease. She'd been hunting here for moons it seemed, but really was only a few weeks.
Her paws stretched out at the snake and she batted at it, feeling the cold reptilian skin. Her body shuddered but she continued to bat at it, hoping it was helping him out. She circled around the couple and nipping at the skin. She drew little blood but was hopefully making a difference. She was dodging the snakes fangs before finding a soft spot. She dug in with her claws and dug her teeth into the snakes belly. She hung on for her life, and his. And she never knew, she could be saving her leaders life.

Cyra was surprised by a sudden flash o silver s another cat attacked the snake. She didn't recognize the she-cat, but I was clear she was on their side. She watched as the cat attacked the snake. Crimson blood splattered the ground as the snake began to bleed. The snake was large and could take plenty wounds before bleeding out. She carefully watched the snake's head as it darted around tussling with the she-cat. The snake lost its grip on Drought as it struggled with the she-cat.
The she-cat got a hold of the belly of the snake and held on. Cyra leaped at the snakes tail hoping to help hold the snake till. She dug her claws deep into the snake drawing blood that stained her white paws. She growled at the creature. "Stupid snake!" She hissed. The snake's head whipped around to face the cats its fangs bared as it leaped towards Cyra. Cyra jumped out of the way, but released the serpent's tail. The snake turned back to the she-cat who still held a grip on the snake's belly. Cyra surged forward and bit the snake's neck. The jaw of the snake slowly opened as it struggled again in her grip. She bit down as hard as she could, and could feel he snake's skin on her tongue. She shook her head and hoped to tear at the snake's neck.
((Sorry for repeating a lot of words I kind of lost my muse))

| Alrighty, I said this originally but I'm gonna say it again just for clarification. Try to keep a posting order, please~ We'll go with me, then Keira, and then Cyra. If one person doesn't reply for 24 hours, they can be skipped until the next time around~ |
For a few heartbeats, the tom struggled against his scaly foe. He had to give it some credit for its tenacity. Despite the fact that he had his claws and teeth in its thick skin, it was still constricting his leg rather powerfully. Just as he was starting to lose feeling in the hind leg and the snake began to coil around his torso, Drought heard footsteps.
A white-furred DeathClanner had appeared, and was launching herself at the reptile. Before he could react to this turn of events, a grey female also arrived on the scene. The snake writhed under their combined attacks, loosening its strong grip on the spotted male just enough for him to wriggle free. When Cyra snapped at it with her teeth, it hissed menacingly. Tearing itself free of the two she-cats, the scaly creature swiftly slithered away into a pool of stagnant water. He had a feeling that it wouldn't be showing its face again soon.
Somewhat winded from the ordeal, Drought straightened up and faced the two younglings. "Well, that's that," he commented lightly in an attempt to ignore the pain from his leg. It didn't feel great after being constricted so tightly, but it would probably be alright after some rest.
"I daresay it's a good thing that you two were around. Any injuries?" He glanced between the two, trying to see whether they were hurt.

((Since it has been a while I felt it would be okay if I replied.))
Cyra felt the snake break free from the cats. Cyra watched the snake slither away with a grin. The thee cats had given the beast quite a few wounds that would probably keep it away from any cat anytime soon. She looked back at her leader and grey she-cat. She was thankful for she-cat's aid in the fight, she probably would have had a lot harder time with the snake other wise.
Cyra smiled at her leader's words, feeling a surge of pride run through her chest. She wanted her leader's respect. She hadn't thought much about injuries she had during the whole ordeal. She looked down and noticed her white fur had changed colors dramatically. Mud soaked her legs from the light rain and swampy ground, and blood clung to her in different areas. The accumulation of stuff on her fur felt heavy and wet.
On the she-cat's leg was a tiny puncture that was bleeding at a slow flow. She licked at her bite and flinched a little at the sting. "Just a little bite," She meowed. It didn't seem too serious especially since she could still stand on it. Hopefully the snake hadn't been poisonous, which she doubted it was since she hadn't died yet. "Are you okay?" Cyra asked politely to Drought. She felt a little worried about her leader's leg.

IF ONE BELL SHOULD RING IN CELEBRATION FOR A KING ACHILLES LAST STAND - LED ZEPPELIN NOTES: Keira, still RPing here? WORD COUNT: 192 ❥ ALTHOUGH DROUGHT HADN'T really noticed it, his own black-and-white pelt was a mess as well. The leader frowned disapprovingly at the mess. Swamp muck had drenched his fur, and crimson splatters stood out against the snow-colored hairs. He wasn't really sure whether it was serpent blood or some of his own. As far as the tom could tell, he hadn't been bitten, but the whole thing was almost a blur.
He glanced over the feline who had spoken. The wince made it clear that the wound, however small, definitely hurt. "I don't think that one was venomous. Most of the snakes here aren't, but it's never good to test your luck against them." Drought's amber gaze flickered over to Keira, who didn't seem to be terribly injured either. Thank Darkpool for that. We got off easy with a few minor wounds.
"I'll be fine. Little beast got a pretty good grip on my leg... doesn't seem like anything's broken, though." Sighing quietly, the DeathClanner sat down. "So, you two got names? I believe I owe you some sort of compensation for helping me out back there," Drought meowed with a small grin.

((Yes. Still here I had a busy weekend and then had to wait my turn to post.))
Keira checked herself over and found herself with a bite mark to a back leg. She couldn't remember when it had happened but it didn't hurt. Her paws were sore and her tongue felt like the snakes skin but all else felt fine. Some good luck for once. Thank Darkpool.
"I appear fine. A small bite is all. Ill survive worse later on." She replied and turned to Drought.
He had looked at her with his amber eyes and she shuddered. He looked very familiar to her but she couldn't place a name with the face. She pondered her options for a moment but couldnt remember.
"I dont believe ive met either of you." She mused aloud.
Her grey and black paws carefully scaled the marshy ground before finding a solid patch of ground. She sat down and licked the mud off her belly fur.
"Mind my manners. Im Keira. You are?" She asked Drought.

Cyra smiled at her leader's reassuring words. She couldn't help but notice what a mess the three cats looked like. All of them were covered in mud and blood as if they had swan in it. Cyra looked a little closer at her leader's leg. Although the leg was lightly injured it appeared to be fine. She turned to the other she-cat. She too only had minor wounds despite her bloody appearance. The grey she-cat was just a youngling like her. The she-cat was slightly younger, but only by a few moons. The grey feline had fought quite well in their little skirmish with the snake. Cyra was very interested in talking to Drought. She had never met her leader before today, but she knew it was him. She had heard stories of her leader from other cats and by his appearance she could only guess it was the wildly known tom. He had an intimidating appearance that was quite freighting. Cyra watched the she-cat as she made her way to a dry spot. Keira was her name. Cyra had never heard of a name like that before. She sat down as well with the other two cats. "My name is Cyra. Thanks for the help," She meowed "Luckily none of us got seriously hurt," She added wrapping her tail around her paws.

LUCK AIN'T EVEN LUCKY GOTTA MAKE YOUR OWN BREAKS IT'S MY LIFE -- BON JOVI NOTES: ------- WORD COUNT: 217 ❥ THE OLDER TOM nodded in Keira's direction. It was good to hear that neither of the she-cats had been particularly injured during the struggle. He certainly couldn't have one of his subjects dying because they'd saved him from a pesky little reptile. No, that might make the others question their loyalty to him. Some were cowards, and they would hesitate to serve him if their lives might be at risk. Though Drought questioned why he allowed such felines to exist in his Clan, this was not the time to figure out how to improve the situation.
He blinked in surprise when one of the younglings stated that she did not know of him. "You really don't know who I am?" questioned the scar-covered male. "My name is Drought. I surely hope that sounds familiar to you."
Taking note of the peasants' own names, he flicked his tail-tip. "Now, as I was saying. Cyra and Keira... you have done well by assisting me against that cursed serpent. Yes, both of you deserve some recognition for this honorable act. You shall be known as royals, rather than peasants, as a symbol of my gratitude."
Grinning faintly, he got to his paws and started to head back toward his den, leaving the two newly-named royals to go their own ways.

Keira nodded her head at the female and looked at the black and white tom. Drought? Ah yes, that made so much more sense. Right away she bowed to Drought, remembering her manners.
"Oh Drought, now it rings a bell. Thank you." She meowed.
Her ears flickered back and forth listening for any snakes sneaking up on them. She didnt hear anything, and visibly relaxed. She couldnt believe her ears as Drought spoke. Royalty? That was perfect. She dipped her head to Drought again and smiled at Cyra.
"Thank you my lord." She exlaimed towards Drought.
The grey she cat walked towards her den with a skip in her step. (Short, because this is the end of the thread i think.)

Cyra couldn't believe her ears. Royalty?! She felt a surge of joy that overpowered her pain from the battle. She couldn't believe a youngling like her could be made Royalty. She smiled at Keira. She wondered if she was as excited as she was. She turned back to bow to Drought. "I'm honored Drought," She meowed politely. Cyra didn't care about her pain anymore, it was worth it now that she was Royalty. She got to her paws and waved a farewell to Keira and walked back to her den. Her paws felt light as she made her way to the hollow oak tree. She couldn't wait to tell Moonless and Rebellion about her new position as royalty.
(same as Keira, short since it is the end of the thread.)
