this is everything i wanted tonight. The dark tabby tom stretched out his long legs, a yawn seeming to unhinge his jaw. Shaking his head slightly, as if chasing away sleep, he rose to his paws, padding to the entrance. His amber eyes flicked to the sky outside, to see darkness. It was, in fact, quite early in the morning, for it was still dark. Another yawn opened his maw, and he sat on his haunches, not knowing what to do.
Tallpaw couldn't fall back to sleep. He set his mind on other things, for instance; why was training taking so long? He hadn't any clue why, except that Greenflare annoyed him greatly and he couldn't help but not be too surprised.
Littlepaw. His friend had just recently been made an apprentice, and he hadn't gotten around to congratulate her yet. Guilt flooded over him, and he stood once more, searching the den for her familiar, small form. Once he found her, he tapped her lightly on the shoulder, then nudged her with his nose. "Hey."

Six afraid of seven,
‘cause seven eight nine I was sleeping. I was dreaming. I was feeling. It was great, to feel this freedom after being enclosed in a DeathClan ruled camp. I was scaling trees freely, skinny little body weaving among the branches. My eyes were lit and the sky was clear, but there was a shallow emptiness around me. There wasn't an company. I was all alone. Had everyone died? Had I killed them? Great thoughts both, but the fear signaled my time to wake.I felt a paw tap me and my eyes slowly blinked open, sleepiness not threatening to drain out of them. I took a few moments to stretch, little body elongating, ribs poking out, tail prickling. It felt nice. I gave a little yawn and smiled at the blurry cat above me. "Oh, hey Tallpaw. I missed you, buddy," I meowed, a pawing reaching up to tap him on the nose. I’m about to lose it

this is everything i wanted tonight. Tallpaw sat still and silent, waiting for his only friend to awaken. When she did, he couldn't help but smile - something rarely seen upon his face. "I missed you too." he purred, touching his nose lightly to hers in a sort of greeting. He rocked back on his heels, watching her for a moment.
The tom honestly didn't know how to start a conversation. Unlike most, he hadn't had moons of practice in the Nursery. Instead he had been watching silently as the kittens had played, or watching the night sky when everyone was a sleep. Overall, he was a loner - no friends, no one that liked him. Well, that was until Littlekit had come along. And he'd never known it could be good to have company or friends that enjoyed his company. And he was grateful for her.
"I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your ceremony." He meowed guiltily, hanging his head. "In my defense, I was training with Greenflare, but I'm not going to make excuses." He looked up at the small female as if he was saying he was sorry. "I wanted to congratulate you. You were right, that you wouldn't be that far behind me." He grinned as he remembered that conversation in the Nursery. | TAGGED:
