@occhio
The medium-furred feline woke to bright sunlight streaming in through a dirty window in the barn. With a groan she rose into a sitting position, bending her head to give her tabby fur a few, brisk licks, then rose to her paws. She cats her orange-amber eyes around the clearing, realizing that most were gone. It must have been quite late in the afternoon.
Petræ trotted out of the barn, taking a moment to relish in the warm sunlight. She decided to take a small path, most likely made by traveling deer, through the grasses of the farmlands, alert for prey. A cracking sound of the dry, golden grass stalks behind her caused her to twitch an ear, as if warding off a fly, and turned. She cocked a fictional eyebrow. " Yes? "

Occhio was, for once, not protecting Lacie. He was trusting that the she-cat would not get herself hurt or killed. The large white tom walked away from the barn house he was now calling home and out into the golden stalks that covered the farmland. He blinked his single eye when he noticed a she-cat not too far away. He didn't realize he stepped on the crunchy stalk until she turned and asked Yes?
"Apologies for interrupting you. I was just going out for a walk." Occhio meowed, giving his head a small bow. The one-eyed tom turned his head to find another direction to walk to.

Petræ studied the white tomcat for a moment, taking care not to stare at his single eye. She faintly wondered how he had gotten it. When he spoke, she nodded. " Ah, I see. A walk by yourself? How… fun. " she chuckled in her smooth, velvety voice. She followed his gaze. It was such a nice day, the sun sending golden sparks off the stalks of grass, a slight breeze ruffling the land.
A perfect day for a walk. Besides, maybe it would be nice to not work for once and just enjoy the day - not to mention meeting others. Her mind flashed back to her brief meeting with Drought. That had been the last time she had spoken or done anything with another feline. She cocked her head in a questioning way, retuning her orange eyes to the tomcat. " Mind if I tag along? "

Occhio felt himself being studied by this she-cat. He stood there somewhat awkwardly, letting her finish her inspection. He wasn't self-conscious about his eye anymore, but he did not like to have it mentioned in conversations. "Yes, by myself. I don't have to guard Lacie, so I thought I would go get clean air." he replied.
It was a nice day, the sun warm, but it was not too hot that he was panting. When the she-cat asked if she could tag along with him, Occhio hesitated before shrugging. "I don't see why not. Before I walk with you, I want to know your name." he said, eyeing the she-cat up and down.

Petræ listened to this tom's odd explanation, but still, she nodded. Lacie? She had no idea whatsoever of who that was, neither did she have the slightest idea of why he would need to guard her. Surely she could take care of herself, especially when she was safe in a group of cats? Her mouth remained closed as she decided not to inquire any of these questions.
The tabby nodded, orange orbs flicking away to study the land before them before answering. She wondered which way they'd go. " That's fair enough. I'm called Petræ. I would also like to know your name before I walk with you. " she said, turning her head back to him.

Occhio gave a shrug. "Occhio. If you are going to make eye jokes, get it out now before I decide to bat you upside the head." His comment was more in reference to what had happened between Nightshade and himself. The white cat blinked his single eye before turning, walking.
"You coming?" he asked Petræ, his tail flicking behind him as he turned to see what the she-cat was doing.

Petræ flicked an ear. " Hm? And why would I do that? " she questioned. She gave her fluffy chest fur a couple of absent-minded licks, then nodded and followed the white tom. She caught up to him, falling in step beside him as he waited for her. She walked in silence for a moment, then decided she should say something. " I do hope you don't mind me asking, but what happened to your eye? "
