It has been years since the end of the Great War and the world has been thrust into a time of economic prosperity and political chaos. The Fire Nation has been almost completely eradicated in retribution for its attempts at taking over the other three kingdoms while the airbending Avatar Aang perished as a child. His replacement, Korra, died eighteen years past and an earthbender now claims the title of Avatar. Unbeknownst to all except for Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom nobility, however, a second Avatar- a firebender- was born through a bizarre twist of fate. Now, with a profound lack of bending citizens, the fire nation has become divided into two separate ideologies: one which harbors a grudge against the other nations, and the other which denies nationalism in all its forms and maintains that the Fire Nation got what it deserved.
Now, the Earth Kingdom is desperately searching for the firebending avatar's location while the firebending avatar travels throughout the land, seeking sympathy for the Fire Nation. Meanwhile the water tribes and air nomads are focused primarily on economic improvement and technological advances and the world of the Avatar is undergoing an industrial revolution.
A group of nonaffiliated individuals meanwhile, known simply as the rogues, are scattered throughout the nations and are being hired for various tasks. With two nations preoccupied on one-upping the other and two more struggling with a lack of defense and rapidly booming industry, the world is headed for collision.
