( Littlefox) Rainkit limped into the medicine cat's den, her right paw overwhelmed with pain, face red with embarassment about what just happened. Apparently, Rainkit thought pulling a vole from the very bottom of the fresh-kill pile out was a good idea, and when she did, a giant squirrel slid from the top, causing her to leap back. Into a bunch of thistles. It took her a long time to dig her right paw out of the bundle of thorns someone left in the thistles. Ouch. She sat down in the middle of the den and began to clean her paw, blood spilling out with every lick.

"CloudClan, what are you kits getting yourselves into nowadays?" Littlefox sighed at the sight of the scratched and bloodied kit before her. Picking some marigold and cobweb from her stock of herbs, the ginger and white she-cat placed them in front of Rainkit before bending down to clean the kit's wounds herself. "It'd be pointless for me to give you anything before cleaning these scratches first, so try to hold still, okay?" she meowed between licks like that of a mother. Taking a leaf of marigold, she carefully chewed it into a poultice and spat the bitter liquid onto her paw.
"This might sting a little, but be a brave little warrior for me." she warned before carefully dabbing the poultice on the cuts.

"Sorry..." she replied to the medicine cat's first word. She nodded to the second, and nodded again at the third. "I'm not afraid of pain." she lied bravely, yet squealed slightly when the pain shot through her paw. She bit her lip, when suddenly a question came to her. "Don't you find being a medicine cat boring?" then realized how rude that sounded. "Sorry." she added.

Littlefox smiled softly at the kit's forwardness in her question.
"Well, some find it boring. A lot of medicine cats didn't even choose the path they walk; they had no other choice because of an injury or disablement. Take a look at my old mentor Waspwing. Poor old geezer wanted to be a warrior but that leg of his said otherwise. Of course I'm sure he was happy to still be able to serve his clan. I on the other hand had always wanted to be a medicine cat, ever since I was a kit. I guess you could say it's like beauty in the eyes of the beholder," she explained while wrapping cobwebs around the scratches.

"Oh..." Rainkit stared down at her paws. Well, her one paw that wasn't being wrapped in cobweb. She opened her mouth to say more, but decided not to and snapped it shut. "Thank you for explaining." she meowed.

"No problem," she smiled and finished wrapping the cobweb. "Alright, you're good to go! It might be a little sore to walk on, so take it easy. We don't want the scratches to reopen, or they might never heal. Come to my den if it gets any worse."

"Okay. Thanks!" She meowed, and hopped onto all four of her paws, ready to bound away. Pain shot through her paw again, and she let out a yip of pain. She glanced at Littlefox, an embarrased smile on her face. "Right. My paw. I forgot." then she limped/charged away.
