Lightfall opened her eyes, getting to her paws quickly. She had something on her mind. Padding into the clearing after checking on the kittens, she padded towards the fresh-kill pile, opening her maw widely as she released a yawn. She picked up two mice and headed towards the Warrior's den.

She was going to visit Skyfire, the father who hadn't accepted their kittens. She'd talk to him, and if he did not accept them, she would give him a piece of her mind no matter how much she didn't want to. 

She poked her head inside, spotting his pelt. "Skyfire." She murmured softly, then said his name a second time, this time louder. "Come, eat this. We must talk."

Lightfall -- it's fine. short post

I awoke with a small gasp. I could have sworn someone was calling my name...oh wait. I stood up, shaking my brown pelt, freeing it from moss and dirt. With a few licks, I made my way out of the den, squinting at the sudden burst of sunlight. I nearly ran into Lightfall. Managing to stop my paws and avoid an awkward collision, I instead redirected my steps until I backed up into the side of the entrance to the den. Feeling sheepish, I glanced at the mouse she had; two of them and it seemed like she wanted me to eat. "That's for me I presume?" I stared at the mouse, knowing that I was a tad bit hungry. Did I want to eat it, or...

Lightfall watched the dark entrance intently, smiling sheepishly when the tom almost bumped into her. She glanced at her paws, ear tips growing warm - if cats could blush, her face would have been red. When he spoke, it startled her for a moment, and she have a little jump.

"Oh-oh yeah. Here." She stuttered, tossing the mouse to his paws. She stood there for a moment awkwardly. "Er - I think we better speak about the… matter at hand." She said, flicking her tail. She was usually never like this, but around Skyfire she was, your some unknown reason. "Shall we go somewhere else?" She suggested, nodding to the side of the den.

Lightfall -- omfg

Lightfall stuttered and suddenly became flustered once I appeared. Being the cocky cat I am, I raised an eyebrow, barely holding back a smirk. I was never one with the ladies, but hey. I'm gettin some. She invited me to go someplace else with her. The last time we were alone...well, heh heh, let's just say that I ended up with new family members. And of course, being the male that I specifically was (you know, the unloved kind of guy), I nodded, slightly biting my lower lip as I examined her. I couldn't tell whether or not she was expecting even more kits. Most likely more were on the way. A small twinge of envy nestled itself in my stomach. It made me want to demand to know who she's been with. If anything, Lightfall probably wanted to talk about out children. "As long as we're alone," I mewed before making a small face at myself. A bit embarrassing, especially knowing that I am not a flirt. I either dive head first or stalk not at all. I was committed. So, after a moment of me feeling awkward, I instead decided to follow where the queen was to lead me to.

Skyfire's expression just made the queen embarrassed, but she would not show that. She raised her chin and straightened her back, meeting his eyes levelly and attempting to show no emotion. She was almost sure she had succeeded.

Skyfire seemed nervous, and she couldn't blame him. Last time they had gone somewhere private, it had ended in two kittens. But she was determined to not let that happen again. He probably had a mate or something along those lines, and she wouldn't get in the middle of that. She didn't want any angry females after her. No. she thought. That wasn't the only reason, was it? It couldn't be. She didn't want to have more kittens with him, did she? She wasn't sure anymore.

At his words, she nodded, padding to the edge of the den. There, she settled down and took a bite of her prey before speaking. "I think we both know what I'm here for. If you do not, I will put it simply. We need to speak about your acceptance of our kittens, for you said you needed time to think it over. Now's the time to tell me. Do you have an answer?" She inquired, tilting her head.

Lightfall -- females are the last thing she needs to worry about

I stared at Lightfall, twitching my ears before exhaling deeply. My paw reached out and slid the mouse to me before lying down as well. With a bite, I swallowed it down, and flicking my half tail. "Nettlepaw won't have it. Blizzardpaw, however, seems attached to me. Yes, I will love them to the best of my abilities, but I doubt Nettlepaw and I will get along very well," I replied, trying not to show how glumly I felt. Sure, I was disappointed at how Nettlepaw become so bitter towards me. Was she ashamed of me? I tried not to think about that stuff and instead focused on Lightfall. "I'm sorry about everything I said. It was harsh and I didn't mean it," I glanced away, not really willing to meet rejection in her eyes. Nobody (except for Thornfrost) accepted my apologies. They'd brush it off and hold a grudge against me for the longest time. I guess I couldn't blame them, considering what I'd do to them.

Lightfall took another bite, listening to the brown and cream tom's words. She nodded slightly. "Yes, Nettlepaw seems to have an attitude." She meowed softly, flicking an ear. "Blizzardpaw is more of a sweet, happy-go-lucky one. But I love them both." She sighed, looking up at them. "Sometimes, I think they both reflect our personalities so much."

His apology slightly surprised her. She glanced at her prey for a moment, silent. Yes, she was still mad at him for what he had done, but she could forgive him. She wasn't one to stay angry at another, as she had learned it did not help. She rolled her shoulders.

"I accept your apology." She said, meeting his eyes. "Just next time, please think about what you are saying and how it will affect us. Me, you, and the kittens."

Lightfall -- this is so short, i apologize

I nodded, keeping my mouth shut. If I tried to say anything, something stupid would come out and the apology I had just said (which was rare, so Lightfall better be glad that I actually apologized to her) and rip the entire thing up. For a moment, I kept ahold of her gaze before tearing away, gritting my teeth together. I wouldn't be in this mess if we had never met. I wouldn't be in this mess if my body would have calmed down. I wouldn't be in this mess if my heart just told me no. She wasn't Littlewillow. I wish she was. I miss her.

Lightfall watched the tom for a moment, eyes searching his. "Are you alright?" She asked softly, her head cocked to one side. She realized it may have not been the best thing to ask - she had no idea what he was going through. It could have been anything.

"Hm. Would you like to go for a walk then?" She suggested, shrugging.
