| Tigerblaze liked to think that she had matured over the past few seasons. She wasn't the same hotheaded, violence-seeking apprentice who had an affinity with sinking her claws into something every other day. Now, she was more of a calm, logical feline, but lethal all the same. There wasn't much that got under her skin enough that it would make her lash out, and Tiger was proud of that. She thought of herself as more in control now, with an iron grip on her emotions. But then again, the paw on her tail was probably an exception. The tabby's head shot up, lips curling into a snarl. Her paw shot out, close unsheathed, aiming to hit the perpetrator. "Watch where you're going!" she hissed. When her navy eyes had adjusted more to the lack of light in the den, Tigerblaze noticed who it was that had woken her up. Oh. ( Thornfrost) CREDIT TO SAV |

Thornfrost rocked back as an unsheathed paw swung in his direction. It had clipped his shoulders, and the tom was stunned still for quite a few seconds, both by the blow and who had delivered it. His eyes glanced down to his paw on her tail then back up, and his expression quickly turned sheepish. Perhaps he couldn't blame her after all, Tigerblaze still didn't seem on the best terms with him anyway. Stepping back he sat down, bashful smile still on his face.
"Ah, sorry little one. Ever since I dislocated it again a few days ago, it's been a bit hard to aim that leg," he excused with a shrug, knowing it was a fairly pitiful reason anyway. His eyes were still warm as he looked at her though, and he found himself wondering where she had been and why he hadn't seen her. "Still angry with me?"

| Tigerblaze stiffened and looked away, silently berating herself for losing her cool (and totally not because she regretted ever trying to hit Thornfrost). "Ah, sorry little one. Ever since I dislocated it again a few days ago, it's been a bit hard to aim that leg." A pang of mixed concern and guilt shot through Tigerblaze like a bullet, eyes widening for a fraction of a second before returning to her usual "I-hate-don't-talk-to-me" expression.
The tabby dared to set her gaze back on the bigger tabby, trying her best not to just give in and bury her head in his chest and just stay there. "It's .. fine, I guess. Just don't do that again; I'd rather not have a broken tail, thanks," she snarked. Ugh, seriously Tiger how long are you gonna keep pretending that you hate him? You obviously don't, so stop acting like such a child with your stupid pride issues. "Angry with you? Really, Thornfrost, is that what we've come to?" she replied, the faintest traces of a smile passing her face. "I'm not going to bite your head off, if that's what you mean."

His gaze darkened slightly as Tiger's aloof reaction. It was more than what he had expected though, and in truth it lit the little spark of hope within him. He'd known his Little One to be able to hold grudges, but he was eternally grateful that they'd never seemed to last against him. He'd never brought it up of course, it hadn't seemed wise. Facing Tigerblaze now, he gave her the softest smile he could, coupled with a snort. "First Skyfire calling me fat and now you, I'm not that heavy am I, Little One?" In mock offense he shook his head before grinning again.
"You sure you're not biting anything off? It would probably make me lighter?" He jested lightly, flicking out his tail to touched Tigerglaze's flank gently. "Alright then, perhaps disappointment is a better term? I let you down, Little One."

| "Someone has to say it eventually," she said with a nonchalant shrug. Tiger kept her face as stoic as possible, but inside she was more than ecstatic to be able to share banter with the tom again. Just thinking about it brought the better memories she shared with Thornfrost, the ones were yes, he was still the overprotective pain in the butt, but he was the happy older brother that Tigerblaze loved to be around with. Maybe if she wasn't so big on trust, maybe if she learned to forgive and forget, she wouldn't have to act so spiteful all the time.
"Disappointment? Let you down?" she echoed. Just give it up already, god! Taking a deep breath, Tigerblaze looked up at Thornfrost with a small smile. "Try happy to see you again, you old coot." CREDIT TO SAV |

"Harsh," he breathed out with a sigh of acceptance. No fighting the majority after all. The tom finally sat up, taking a moment to roll out his injured shoulder before he placed his paws back down on the ground. His tail flicked up, then drifting down to curve around his paws, acting like a nest in its own fluffy right.
There was something about Tigerblaze that seemed mildly different. Perhaps she had matured even more during her period of ignoring him. She'd been through her fair share of trials, and he was to blame for more than a few, so it was a relief to see such a positive expression on her face. He'd missed her smile, Thornfrost realized. "Old!? Who's old around here?" He protested, though a broad smile remained. Falling forward at Tigerblaze's feet her purred. "Well no matter, I'll take what I can get." The snorted and muttered, "Old coot indeed."

| Tigerblaze rolled her eyes. "That's my specialty," she answered. Whilst Thornfrost proceeded to haul himself up and test his scarred shoulders, the striped warrior couldn't resist sighing at Thornfrost's tendency to get crippling wounds. "You really should stop torturing that body of yours. Honestly, it's like you want to be an old cripple." She huffed, and her words were barbed as usual, but it was Tigerblaze's way of saying that she was worried that he'd get himself hurt again.
She eased herself into a laugh - something that she noticed was easier to do when around Thornfrost. "You really are old if you can't even see the only old person in this den," she teased, genuinely enjoying herself after what seemed like an eternity. Tigerblaze put her paws on the top of his head, sticking her tongue out at him. "Eh, you're probably older than Redstorm, only less of a grump."
