So lately I've been wanting to bring back my first account being this one that I am on. Upon my return, I've noticed that there is another cat account within the same clan with the same name as me.
Now I'm not at all upset or anything stupid but I was just simply wondering if this could be a thing that might cause a name change. I certainly wouldn't mind it and would be more than happy to, but I'd like to confirm it first.
I did check to see if they were active and they were online a week or two ago.

Cloudfrost -- no, this is not allowed. each name is supposed to be unique to one cat, no matter what clan they are in. this person probably didn't realize there was already a cloudfrost. could you send me the link to their account? you can just post it here if you'd like. i'll shoot them a pm about this :3

Lightfall isn't wrong, we encourage all members to have their own names.
However, at the same time we do not take any joy in forcing other members to change their names, whatever the reason. Rather than forcing either Cloudfrost or @km39727 to change their names, we encourage the two of you to come together on your own and discuss this matter. If one of you is willing to change, then it's fine. If you'd both like to change your name, that if fine, but just because @km39727 is a newer Cloudfrost doesn't mean she has any less right to the name, considering you went inactive. In the end there will have to be at least one name change, but rather than forcing this on any one member, we'd rather you both to discuss it peacefully yourselves.

Thank you both for the explanation. I certainly will discuss this with the other.
I just simply wanted to see if this sort of matter would cause for a name change. I would feel guilty if they had to change the name just because I decided to come back.
I will PM them about it.
One other thing.
Is the rule about only heterosexual mate pairs still around or has that changed? I started reading the announcement but I wanted a definite answer.

It is currently still in debate, a definite answer has not yet been released.
So at the moment, the single-sexuality rule remains.
