Dogpaw Graypaw padded sleepily out of the apprentice den and stretched, the pale morning sunlight shining on her gray coat. She looked around, not many other cats where awake and she wanting someone to talk to. Well I at least should work on my speed a bit more. She got up on a leaning rock and crouched and narrowed her eyes and she prepared to launch herself. Graypaw rocketed off the rock and sped around the clearing like a blur of gray. She was about to make her fifth lap when she saw another apprentice come out of the apprentice den so she sped over. "Hi there!" she meowed trying to skid to a stop but tripped and fell "Omph! I'm Graypaw."

Lace up your shoes Here's how we do Run baby run Don't ever look back They'll tear us apart if you give them the chance Don't sell your heart, don't say we're not meant to be Run baby run, forever we'll be You and me | Dogpaw was getting more accustomed and comfortable with the Apprentices' Den and being back into clan life in general. He could suppress the urge to stay up at night and to always be tense around his own clan-mates more frequently than the first few days he had been back; although, socializing was still uncharted waters for the tom.
He sat up from his nest and groomed his fur, seeing that the sun had already risen. Stretching out his limbs, the tuxedo apprentice rose and made to exit the den. Dogpaw blinked in mild surprise as a striped form darted towards him, stopping just in time before crashing into him, but instead falling to the ground. Dogpaw was a little confused as to why Graypaw was so eager to approach him, but he shrugged it off.
Sea-green eyes were curious as they scanned the female. Graypaw then. Simple enough, and it would be obvious as to why she would be called that, he thought. |

Graypaw sat up and got a better look at the cat, a while and black tuxedo with sea-green eyes. Oh that must be Dogpaw, the ones Deathclan kidnapped. The thought of Deathclan ruffled her fur up. "So your Dogpaw, the hostage that Deathclan took." she meowed "What was it like being Deathclan's prisoner? If it makes you uncomfortable you don't have to tell me."

Still, the tom nodded his head once and sat down, wrapping his tail neatly around his front paws. This Graypaw character was quite the curious fellow, but Dogpaw, for now, would oblige to the she-cat.
"It was unfamiliar, unsettling at first. You don't know what they're going to do to you, or if they have hidden purposes. Surprisingly though, the cat that had been in charge of us treated us nicely, like a queen would. Despite the daunting situation we were in, I and the other three were very close." |

Graypaw sat down and listened to Dogpaw. Wow that must have been scary. Her ears shot up as he mentioned the Deathclanner that took care of them. "So Deathclan didn't torture you guys or anything? I thought they were supposed to be really mean." she meowed then another question came to mind "What about the Deathclan leader, what was his name...? Drought, yeah Drought. Did you see him?"

The grey and white feline twitched his whiskers as he looked back at his experience. "No; they didn't have a reason to. I assume it's because the Clans have been complying to their every wim, so Drought had no need to publicly inflict pain on us." The tom glanced away from Graypaw, his large figure stiffening at her next inquiry. Every mention of his time spent in DeathClan included Drought, and Dogpaw absolutely despised the scarred rouge. With his voice mirroring his appearance, Dogpaw gruffly answered, "He would come by to see if we were behaving ourselves, but other than that, we hardly saw him." |

[Sorry for the lazy reply] "Oh..." She meowed as she listened more to Dogpaw's answers and put her head down "Sorry if I made you unconformable, I was just curious."

"It's fine," he murmured, looking away. He wasn't much of a talker, and he preferred to only speak when directly spoken to. He waited for Graypaw to continue the conversation, busying himself with trying to keep away the memories of being in DeathClan away from his attention. |
