NO I CAN'T SLOW DOWN I CAN'T HOLD BACK THOUGH YOU KNOW I WISH I COULD NO THERE AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD Honey brown eyes became locked on a sickly looking deer. Its head low to the ground as it's jaws took up greens from the ground. As the black wolf drew closer, the deer popped its head up in alarm. Now was the time to attack. Leaping from her hiding place, she tried to take down the deer right then and there, but no luck. It began to run in fear trying to hold onto its life, but the wolf was hot on it's track. Reaching out, the wolf sunk it's sharp yellow teeth into its back leg dragging it down. Clawing up to the neck, the wild beast bite down with such power and fiercely shook its head till the deer fell limp.
The wolf sat back and let out a long sigh. Looking up, the honey brown eyes were filled with reflecting stars. Once again, Matana seemed at a loss in her life. What was she living for? She woke up in the morning to hunt, kill, eat and then just fall asleep awaiting the same thing to repeat its self. Sure, Matana could join a pack, but she felt she didn't belong. Never was she one for large groups and taking care of everyone. She was always a solo act, but yet she was lonely. Ever since she was a pup she had her brother, Kodi. He was always by her side and she was by his. When they were reunited, she felt the world was perfect. Then, a male caught her eye. He was like no other and no words could explain why she was so attracted to him.
Matana came up with the idea that she was a cursed. Never to have long lasting happiness and never to delver happiness to others. Looking down at the deer, she placed her massive black paw on it's next which had her bite mark. Her mind flashed and Rueff's face made her cringe. Sinking her claws into the warm flesh she gave it a good jerk cutting it open. Crimson red blood fell onto the flower covered ground. Ya, she was hunting in Rue's territory, but she didn't care.
Matana thought if she stuck around long enough he would come back to her. If he was to fall in love with Yechta and stay with her, then she would still stick around. She brought him pain so if that's how she would remain in his life and in his very heart, so be it. The thought of attacking his new flower sniffer lover did cross Matana's mind. Attacking and killing her, but that wouldn't help her cause. Rue would hate her even more. Then again, she thought if she blamed it on an animal it would turn out better. Still, Matana didn't want to risk it so she stayed away.
Matana turned her honey brown gaze back to the clear night sky. "Oh Rue."
(I was bored and I really love Matana so I figured I would post. No one is likely to join, but hey like I said love her! Really it's open to anyone.)

" HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW A RAVEN IS LIKE A WRITING DESK "
I haven't the slightest idea! Rueff flattened his one good ear to the short hair of his scalp as he heard the soft, melodic chant that floated on the wind. She was here, again. And it was his job to chase her off. Again. He started a slow, enduring job towards the source of the haunting words. Rueff was once an attractive, I can grant you that. But the few short years he had experienced had begun to take their toll. Age, to most people, was like lapping waves against stone, the years slowly wearing down the rock. To him, age acted like a damn in drought, the life-sustaining water drying up at unimaginable speeds. He wouldn't doubt he was surviving on the final few drops. Rueff finished his trot at the sight of a black silhouette standing over the limp carcass that scent tempting scents to the soft breeze. Duet just sighed. He never signed up for this. But he got it anyway. He just exhaled loudly, exasperated, watching his breath dog before his one reddened eye in the cold night. "You're trespassing. Again" TAG: Matana WORDS: 000 NOTES: Who would think there would be a day Matana was worse than Rueff...

NO I CAN'T SLOW DOWN I CAN'T HOLD BACK THOUGH YOU KNOW I WISH I COULD NO THERE AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD A small smile made it's way upon the female's scarred face. This smile held a great deal and of pain and sadness. Yet, with every smile there was a little bit of happiness. Turning her honey brown eyes from the midnight sky, she found it gazing upon a not so handsome tom. Well that is what most thought these days. With his scarred face and body her looked like a monster. Well, let's say Matana was never into the normal wolf, she liked a little be of terror.
Giving a small chuckle at his words the she-wolf smile once more. "Yes yes, I know. The big bad wolf is going to chase me away. Don't worry Rue I know the drill. I will leave, but first why don't stick around? I killed a deer for you. Want a bite?" Gazing at him with honey brown eyes full of sweet love, Matana smiled. She really wasn't expecting him to agree to her offer. In her head she was picturing what he would do. Most likely storm over, growl at her and demand that she leave right now. He would then take the deer back to his pack and feed alongside his pretty little flower sniffer and his new family. After they had finished eating the two black wolves would slip away to their den for a night a peace.
Matana didn't like where her prediction was going, and bite down hard on her lower lip. A scarlet liquid began to stream down the reset of her jaw. 'Stupid flower sniffer. I have the wolf!'
(Ha! Well Rue they make and interesting couple!)

" HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW A RAVEN IS LIKE A WRITING DESK "
I haven't the slightest idea! Rueff sighed and glanced behind him, at the camp. His new home, full of warm bodies and soft skin that he would harden with muscle one day. When Yechta saw what good it could do, and gave him that extra power he needed, he would turn them all into a force to be reckoned with. And he relished the idea of being at the head of that attack. Rueff huffed and padded closer, sitting beside the glassy-eyed head of the deer. The idea of staying longer made his stomach churn, made him want to throw up rather than eat more. He quickly lost his appetite. "I won't eat your kill, but I'll stay." He forced away to urge to look back towards his ill-protected camp. "For a bit" TAG: Matana WORDS: 151 NOTES: Sorry! NO I CAN'T SLOW DOWN I CAN'T HOLD BACK THOUGH YOU KNOW I WISH I COULD NO THERE AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD Matana smiled as the tom took a seat next to her fine killed deer, thought he didn't take a bite out of it. She noticed that he kept looking back to his camp and it felt that he was ripping her heart with his own claws. Did he know how much she meant to him? Of course not, he thought he didn't mean anything because of how many times she left him. No matter how she saw it, in the end it was always her fault. She knew this, but all she wanted was one more chance. With that chance she could right all wrongs. Yet, she had a feeling this was not going to happen. This pack of his was all that mattered to him and it was the best thing in his life at the moment, maybe in all his life.
As she thought of the past and their memories, she wondered if she stole him from the heart stealing female. Thought it wouldn't have been a back thing because she was evil and cruel, but she would have still stolen him. Now, she was trying to do the same here. Why was it so hard to forget about him? Maybe she needed to find someone else as well. It seemed like the flower sniffer replaced Matana in Rue's heart. Perhaps the same would happen with Matana if she found a new lover. Thought would it do any good if all other males were weak compared to Rue. Perhaps, she would just wait till his little pack died out and then she would try and capture his heart once more. Well for the time being she would just try and stick around, being that was the only thing she could do at the moment.
"Will you take it back to you pack? I mean it won't do any good laying around. I mean you could leave it for the coyotes if you got any around these parts. I'm sure little pups are hungry anyway." Matana had recently walked into the pack's camp and of course was chewed out by the pack members, but that was what she was aiming for. Thought, she wouldn't tell Rue that if he didn't know already.

" HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW A RAVEN IS LIKE A WRITING DESK "
I haven't the slightest idea! Rueff sighed again and fell like a sack of potatoes, burrowing his nose in a short cluster of daffodils. Once upon a time it would have bothered him immensely. Now he was beyond caring. He felt a rumble in his throat, and quickly suppressed the growing growl. No matter how many times he lay down, or sat, or walked or stood! his leg would send that inevitable lance of agony. But it was worth it. "You caught it, no matter the territory. Take it to wherever you reside. Just don't leave it hear after " He thought about scavengers, not just circling vultures and coyotes, but prideful, injured wolves looking for food, and a little trouble. Like he used to be when he was basically blind, deaf and crippled. And in that case, if wolves like himself started showing up, the more was not merrier. TAG: Matana WORDS: 168 NOTES:

NO I CAN'T SLOW DOWN I CAN'T HOLD BACK THOUGH YOU KNOW I WISH I COULD NO THERE AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD "Just like you, I've lost the desire to eat Rue. I'm not that starved to worry about the things that follow a dead corpse. Just take it back to your pack saying you caught it, no one will no the difference." Matana let out a sigh, she didn't want to bother with weak wolves that would follow the dead dear and with her current attitude, she started to think that she would eat a full deer any time soon. Letting out a sigh, she laid down in the flowers and looked at the night sky. Would things always be like this? The space between them so great she felt like she was talking to an image inside her head.
Lowering her honey brown gaze, her eyes began to stare blankly at the male in front of her. She wanted to reach out a paw to make sure he wasn't just an image, but she didn't move. Letting out yet another long sigh, she turned her gaze to the sky once more. "So how's the pack doing?" They needed to talk about something and the only thing she thought he would talk about was his new family. Anything else he would just growl and look away.

" HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW A RAVEN IS LIKE A WRITING DESK "
I haven't the slightest idea! Rueff moaned and risked another glance back to his home. He didn't really want to talk to Matana about that. He knew she was bitter that he'd gone off when she left and actually made himself a life. But she wasn't in this life. He didn't think she'd have to guts to crawl back. And it was killing him, splitting his insides in half and turning them inside-out. And Rueff knew she knew she was doing it. It was most likely her intent. To tear him and two. He was left with the choices. Return to a hard, rough, incredibly imperfect life that he deserved, or this perfect haven where he didn't belong, where he stuck out like a sore thumb. He remembered suddenly that Matana proposed a question, and with a long hesitation, he finally answered simply. " They're worried about this black femme strolling around the territory, taking our prey and trespassing on territory. " And all he could see was that scar across her face, and those ribs that stuck out from her sides, and imagined a wicked smile creep across her face. He imagined her honey brown eyes bleeding into a red colour that reflected golden. He had to screw his eyes shut and dig his claws into his forehead, his voice muffled by his dark paws. "Please eat. You're turning into... me " TAG: Matana WORDS: 248 NOTES: N/A

NO I CAN'T SLOW DOWN I CAN'T HOLD BACK THOUGH YOU KNOW I WISH I COULD NO THERE AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD Matana let out a laugh as he answered a question. "Ah, so that's how it is. For some reason I find that very funny." Rolling on her back she let out a few more laughs until she stopped. Then he made the comment that she was changing into him. Was that a good thing? To Matana it was, she wanted to be close to him and if this was the key so be it. "You worry to much Rue," Matana said gazing at the stars once more.
Then, like a flash in the star a shooting star came and went. "Rue! Rue! There was a shooting star! Make a wish!" Closing her eyes, Matana made her wish. 'Let me and Rue be together again.'

" HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW A RAVEN IS LIKE A WRITING DESK "
I haven't the slightest idea! Rueff sighed, just plain tired. When he could process things, and see thing like a normal wolf, without that beautiful, warped feeling of insanity, everything might be coherent, but it was plain and boring. And tiring. Very tiring. And he relished that glint in her honey-brown eyes, that showed Matana was on the brink. But he hated it too. He buried his wet nose in his black mitts, smelling the scent of his own blood, glistening red and fresh on his claws. He heard her words. A shooting star? He didn't know many childish myths, and this was no exception. He screwed his eyes up tighter as Matana told him to make a wish. He hoped this myth was real. Please, let it come true I wish I could chooseTAG: Matana WORDS: 115 NOTES: N/A

NO I CAN'T SLOW DOWN I CAN'T HOLD BACK THOUGH YOU KNOW I WISH I COULD NO THERE AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD Matana looked back at the male, "Did you make a wish Rue? What did you wish for!" The black female seemed to be acting like a pup. This nature was recently picked up when she stopped caring about power and started to become more lazy. The male Tate also seemed to be unlocking her more gentle and playful side. "If you tell me what you wished for I will tell you what I wished for." Matana tried her best to pester with Rue in order to spill the secret wish.
How long would it be before he chased her away completely? She was trying her best to stay around, to still have a place in Rue's heart. Thought she knew well that it was causing him pain, she still wanted to be around him. If she could stop the pain she would, but that didn't seem like a likely thing to happen. She could leave and stop the pain, but then she would lose him and once again leave. Wanting to see him again she would return and gain the same lecture as before. Things seemed to be tough at the moment.
