Crowwing entered the warriors' den, after a day of training Ravenpaw and Whisperpaw. As much as he enjoyed training them, he was getting tired. Not only was he blind in one eye, but his paw was starting to hurt a bit. It was rather tedious battle training two apprentices at a time, but then again, there was Pigeonwing, who was granted three apprentices during a ceremony. Hmm, I wonder how he is doing with his apprentices. he thought, not really knowing why the younger warrior came into his thoughts.
Making his way to his nest, the tom sniffed the den. It was weird enough knowing that Firelight was now in Cloudclan, and practically all his friends were gone, whereas the only ones who remained were Leopardripple, soon to be an elder, and Mistybreeze, though he did not know if she would consider him as one.
Soon enough, the senior warrior fell into a slumber, only to be awoken by the sounds of someone else around. Coughing, the tom made it evident that he wished not to be disturbed prior, but now that the noise woke him up, he was now up.

Shadyfoot scuffled inside the warrior's den, making an awfully loud noise as she threw up some leaves. As one landed on her noise she let out an irritated sigh as it tickled her nose. She batted it away fiercely, earning a protest from a cat as it landed on their head, but she didn't care as she shuffled farther into the den. Her head shot up and glared at the cat as they made a somewhat irritated cough as if they didn't want to be disturbed.
She suddenly stopped glaring and bent her head and flattened her ears as if she was ashamed that she was taking out her tired mood on other cats. Her eyes softened slowly as she mewed. "Sorry." She carefully picked her way to the warrior and sat down beside them, closing her eyes for a moment.

Crowwing batted the leaf off of his head, realizing that the stranger would not be generous enough to do it for him. Oh well, at least it was no kit who entered the den, just a tired looking warrior. He give her a look, observing her. He thought he saw her around the camp before, oh yes. Something foot was her name, but not knowing the first part of her name, it was better not to make assumptions. She was one of the younger lot though.
"It's alright. I've already ate my share of the fresh-kill pile, so you shall be spared." he joked, trying to lighten the mood, not knowing if this cat would take his joke seriously or not. Now that she was closer to him, he was able to smell that she was with more than just one leaf.
"Though I thought I recalled your name, I seem not to, but I am Crowwing." With this, the tom thumped his heavy tail, giving a ring to his name.

Shadyfoot giggled at the cats' comment, noting that it should be taken as a joke. She opened her eyes and studied the cat seeing that he was a tom and the same color as herself. She also saw that he had many scars, most likely from battles. Now that she had a good look at the tom she finally recognized him from at least when she was an apprentice, Crow-something was his name.
Crowwing, that's right! she thought, after he had told her his name. The thump afterwards made her smile, "My name is Shadyfoot." she mewed as she mimicked his thump, though hers wasn't nearly as loud as Crowwing's, in a joking sort of demeanor.

Crowwing gave a slight smile at the she-cat's giggle. It was nice to know that some cats still had a sense of humor. Most days it was just gossip about mates and such, which was a huge boredom for him.
It was a bit awkward, having her stare at him for so long, as if she was studying him, trying to remember how he looked like, but he bared through it, assuming that's what the younger folk did nowadays. There were more cats around after all, and one did not want to know someone and then forget how they looked like.
Shadyfoot. So he was right, sort of. "Shadyfoot, it's a pleasure to meet you then, even though you were playing around with leaves." That was how he was going to remember her as now - the warrior who was still befriending leaves. Not that one could not have fun, but it was better than being known as the cat who disturbed his slumber.
He looked at her with his good eye - the left - and smiled. More cats were starting to obtain the dark colored coat as his, so no one could really accuse him for not disposing his furballs now.

"Oh, sorry about that. They can be fun to play around with though." Shadyfoot joked as she flicked a leaf with her tail. She squinted as she looked at Crowwing's eyes and saw something that she surprisingly had't noticed before. "What happened to your eye." she whispered as if it would make it less impolite.

The tom stiffened up a bit, hearing Shadyfoot's question. What happened to his eye?
"I got into a skirmish with that splotched tom from Deathclan." he muttered. "Who would have thought they would have terrorized a hunting patrol?"

Shadyfoot hadn't really realized how sensitive he would be until she saw Crowwing stiffen. She twitched her ears, a little guilty as he replied. She didn't want him to feel forced into having to answer. "I'm...i'm sorry." she whispered.

"Sorry? There's no need to be." he smiled. "It's comforting, really. Knowing that I have actually faced Deathclan in battle, for I have not been in the battlefield in such a long time."
Crowwing then stared into the blues of Shadyfoot's eyes. "You know, you've got nice eyes." he commented. "Or maybe it's just that your pelt compliments it."

Shadyfoot nodded as Crowwing spoke about battling DeathClan, not really knowing what to say. "Umm, thank you." Though she was used to being sprayed with compliments about her eyes, she didn't expect the senior warrior before her to compliment her, and she was a little taken aback. She looked at Crowwing's eyes and saw brown which seemed rare to Shadyfoot since she had never met any cat with brown eyes quite like his. "Your eye color is very interesting." she complimented.

He purred, taking the compliment. Okay, now enough of that. he was not one of those to be drowned with affection or compliments, so he did what he did best - socialize. "So how's warriorhood? Do you have an apprentice yet?"

Shadyfoot purred as she talked about her apprentice. "Yes, I do have an apprentice. Her name is Silverpaw and she's almost ready to become a warrior, she only needs her assessment. How about you?"

Silverpaw. That name did not ring a bell to him, but since she was almost a warrior, at least he had an idea of one of the future young lot's name. "I have Ravenpaw, who is almost a warrior too, just needs to complete his battle training, but he has completed his assessment already. I just felt like he needed some extra work before recommending him to Darkstar. I also have Whisperpaw, who was reassigned to me, who claims to only need battle training."
So that was it. He assumed that the three might share a warrior ceremony at this rate.

"That's wise." Shadyfood commented about Ravenpaw, but she jumped at the name Whisperpaw. "I know Whisperpaw! She's my friend." she explained before adding, "Two apprentices at once, wow. Though I heard Pigeonwing has three. But two is still a lot."

His fur bristled a bit once Shadyfoot jumped up a bit. "That's interesting." he commented. "I wonder how it would have been if she was reassigned to you instead of me." Weird relationship indeed.
"Yeah, Pigeonwing has three, but it's easier once you get the hang of it - sometimes."
