Brightflame raced from one end of the other, reorganizing and rearrancing and tidying everything to make it just perfect for the new arrival. The new arrival! Brightflame finally would have someone to help him in the den! After Falconwing died and Thornfrost stopped showing up he had been utterly alone, and now there would be another medicine cat. This was the most amazing thing that had happened since he had been chosen for this job, and Brightflame was determined to make his new coworker's first day absolutely perfect. Bright could show him all the best places to look for herbs, the path to the Medicine Cat meetings, and maybe this arrival would finally be able to organize the herbs in a way that made sense. Brightflame was ingenious with using them, but storing them was a disaster.
Brightflame heard footsteps, and he practically tackled the cat who entered, "Hello there! It's so nice to meet you! I'm the current Medicine Cat Brightflame, would you like a tour of the den? Are you excited for your new position?" Brightflame was still very childish and bubbly, and the excitement made this even worse. Hopefully he hadn't overwhelmed the poor arrival.

Yeah he was already flustered and it hadn't been five minutes. Well flustered was an understatement, he was normally very calm and collective but he was easily stressed. Y-y-yeah I-I'm Flamingpelt. I am guessing you are the magnificent Brightflame. He didn't expect such a warm welcoming. I take it I am now a full Medicine Cat? I'm more excited to help others- but if there are any cats really hurt by battles and such Cloudclan help them. I really am still kind of squeamish from blood, but I guess I will grow used to it. He was used to hunting and seeing blood from his prey, but blood from other cats? No he couldn't handle it. It made him dizzy sometimes if there was a good quantity of it around the cat in question. He needed to get used to blood or his life as a Medicine Cat would not be fun at all.

With a warm laugh, Brightflame shook his head. "Don't worry, you get used to it after a while. You just do what needs to be done and in that moment your brain sort of goes into autopilot. Even if you don't get over your squeamishness like I did, that's the beauty of having both of us! I'll take care of the messy stuff and you can get herbs prepared and applied, or work with the sick! You just find what you're most suited to and I'll take care of the rest." Walking in a circle around the arrival, Brightflame nodded encouragingly, "You certainly look up to it. Would you like a tour of the herb patches we collect from? It'll be useful for you to know where they are in case there's an injury in the territory and I'm busy elsewhere." Brightflame offered.
Honestly he was doing an awful job of making the den seem like a peaceful place, but...well it rarely was anyways, and Brightflame was just ecstatic to finally be working with someone. The den got lonely when it was just one person.

He hoped so. As for the den he saw it was a mess. He being a perfectionist, could organize it. I think I can clean up the den for you Brightflame. We desperately need to remove many of these dead herbs in order to make room for new ones. He had an idea of where everything was. I thank you for offering to show me where the herbs are but I've done some exploring myself, plus if we find anything we can exchange information. It would certainly spice things up. He imagined Brightflame was lonely, as Waterheart had not been heard from in moons. It was good that the cat was getting some company.

Brightflame nodded quickly, impressed by the initiative of this new addition. "We can get started in here now if you like? I've been working on it for about a full twelve moons and think I might have just made it worse..." Brightflame laughed good naturedly at this, he was fully aware he was inept at organizing and couldn't believe Waterheart had ever let him near the herb store. "You're right though, this den needs a good cleaning again and then we can go exchange information. I'm sure you've probably found some new patches! We need more horsetail and borage, and there is so much marigold it's not even funny." Brightflame let out a breath, faking exasperation at the marigold situation before immediately reverting back to his cheery self. "The dead herbs can go out back, there's a pile of them that grows a few useful plants in the spring."

He was ambitious and obsessive with organization, otherwise nothing could work in his mind. With anarchy and no set rules, they would all be dead by now. I can go get some later, most of that is easily found by the river if I remember correctly. Although, do we have a good source of catnip? he asked. He walked over with a nod to the pile of dead and decaying herbs and put a small clump in his mouth before taking them outside the den, only to return with an empty mouthy several moments later.
