Branches swished over head from the light breeze. The sky glowed blue, with small whisks of clouds. The river trickled and swirled in the narrow bed it was given. It's edges swelled over part of the shore, yet moved lazily over the rocky path. Bear emerged onto a gentle rise, looking down the small slope at the river as it lazily flowed by. The water lapped at the stones on the edge of the river, making a soothing sound. Bear lumbered down the slope, she could now just barely glimpse the bottom of the shallow riverbed. A pike swam out of the tugged weeds at the bottom, another to follow. Bear's belly twisted with grief as she remembered her sister, Hawk. She loved pike, and every morning Bear would fetch a few from the river. As Bear neared the water's edge, the pike was gaining water as it began to drift to the surface. It's tail flapped gently against the current. The morning sunlight made the water glisten, but was thankfully still to the east, casting Bear's shadow across the grass instead of the fish's view. Bear then positioned herself at the edge of the river, feeling the damp, grainy sand file into her fur and push against her skin. The pike began to slowly move down towards Bear. As it drew near, the she-cat lifted a six-toed paw in the air, ready to pluck it out of the swollen river. ( Rebellion)

The dark scarred tabby stalked through towards the river to think. As was his favorite spot to be to clear his mind. He glanced up at the sky and sighed before continuing on with his small journey towards the ever. He could hear it's gurgling not to far up ahead. He quickened his pace but stopped when he got close enough. He could scent another cat nearby coming up ahead. He crouched and peered around some bushes to look. He spotted another figure fishing there and sighed. Great company. He rose and padded closer but veered to the side where a fallen tree lent over the river.

As the pike gradually grew closer, it's scales flashing with the sunlight, Bear swung her paw down and plucked it from the river. It lay on the shore, helplessly flapping until Bear leaned down and snapped is neck.
Again, Bear's heart twisted with grief as she remembered Hawk. So young, a sad death. Bear glanced up at the sky, the east beginning to loose its milky glow as the sun climbed higher in the bright blue sky. The last star was beginning to fade as the sun shone. Was that Hawk, watching Bear right now.
Bear saddly shook her head, and suddenly felt like she was being watched. Choosing to ignore it, Bear bent her head and began to rip off the scales. As they were thrown down the the damp sand, they sparked. The water still flowed lazily by, yet growing more rapid as the earth awoke.
Bear's mouth already watered as she glimpsed the bright red meat. The scent overwhelmed her. A scraggly bush trembled at the edge of her vision, and a tom stepped out. He threw a glance at Bear, and continued downstream to a sodden branch, ever looking the river.
Bear's forehead furred into a scowl. After ridding the fish of scales, Bear was able to take a bite. Memories swathed her mind, and made images of Hawk float away. Sighing with grief, Bear took a few more bites. "Greetings." Bear growled from her bloody lips, the pike scent still fresh on the fish.

He flicked an ear in her direction but did not look away from the water. "Greetings." He rumbled quietly as he lay on the branch. Watching leaves swirl in the rivers wet surface and the dark shapes of fish swimming beneath. "Quite day no?" He commented

Bear narrowed her amber eyes at the tom's relentless earflick. The shecat just carried on, taking another bite of the pike. The sun was climbing higher, it's light becoming more bright. Bear took another quick bite, watching the water swirl by.
Bear glanced up at the tom as he made a comment, and flicked her ear. "I suppose." She meowed, glancing up as a tortoise launched itself from a tree and flew into the sun. Her fur pricked with anxiety. "What's your name?" Bear suggested for words. She wouldn't just sit and fumble the sand.
A small piece of fish was caught on her due-claw. Bear just gingerly licked it off, glancing again at the water as a cark swathed by. The pike was eaten, and a convenient smooth grey stone loomed on the gentle rise in the land. The large shecat rose to her paws, climbing over the small cliff that was edged with grass.
Bear quietly trotted up the gentle rise, feeling closer to her sister the higher she went. "So, who runs this joint anyhow?" Bear meowed dustily to the tom, settling on the warm stone. Heat instantly soaked into her fur, and Bear silently slid onto her side. She felt like a trout, basking in the sunlight.

He tilted his head in her direction and glanced over at her with indifferent burnt orange amber eyes. "Rebellion, and Drought is the leader. I would have thought you'd known." He moewed narrowing his eyes slightly

The sunlight soaked soothingly into her fur. "Ahh, Drought seems like one of those hot-headed gloaters." Bear growled, exposing her belly to the warm sun. "I'm Bear." She meowed, belly full and warm.
"So, what's it like in Deathclan?" Bear questioned, squirming on the rock.

"I have only met Drought once and he...yeah he wasnt too friendly but Deathclanners aren't supposed to be." He commented. "And Deathclan is complicated to say the least. There is some drama going on between others fren enough." He shrugged.

Bear sniffed. "Wonder what my encounter will be like." She meowed, shifting on the warm stone. "I can't wait for a good fight." She meowed, rolling to her belly and lifting her head. The water looked tempting. "Haven't had a good one for weeks." Bear commented, blinking against the sunlight.
She threw a glance at Rebellion, eyes narrowing. Bear had a quick conversation with Twilight Sparkle, before returning her gaze to the water. "I've spoke to a few cats, like that Luna character. She is off, but said she's never been in a battle in Deathclan."

He stiffened at the name of Luna. "Oh. Is that so?" He commented lazily. "Yeah well despite what people say about Deathclan, there aren't many battles unless you count fighting within the group itself." He muttered

Bear glimpsed his stiffening at the name. She chose to ignore it. Bear just silently rose to her paws, and gazed down the small slope at the river. Her fur pricked at the though of swimming. Bear suddenly barreled towards the water, and dove in.

He flinched away at the splash and looked on at the shecat. Tilting his head in curiosity. What was it with cats and swimming?

The webbed-pawed shecat's grey head broke the surface. "What's that look for?" Bear spat, paws churning in the cold water. A fish flashed by, is scales flashing. The sky was suddenly growing dark, the stray pieces of heather skid over the surface of the river. Bear strongly swam to shore, hearing as the sky let out a roar of thunder. A heartbeat passed before lightning flashed. "We should go to shelter!" Bear yowled at Rebellion through the boom of thunder.

He was about to reply before the storm affects stopped him. He nodded to the shecats call and jumped off his branch before stalking off towards a nearby cave like place where he had found shelter in before many times when it stormed.

Bear glimpsed him as he ran, and dashed into the trees. The foliage took most if the rain, but still soaked her pelt. Bear spotted a hollow in a tree, and decided to take shelter in it. The tom and cave were nearby, so for the first time, Bear didn't feel alone.
