The frost covered moor stretched as far as any eye could see. The wind rippled across russian blue fur. Clear blue eyes stared at the dark night sky Shivering from the early morning leaf-bare air, as well as from the thrill of leaving her Clan, the blue she cat set one paw down, then the next, and the next, and the next. She was walking quickly now, gathering speed. The entirety of her territory was out there, and no cat was going to hold her back. Her quick pawsteps broke into a run, and then she was free. Early morning air ripped through her fur as she sped across the moor, the wind at her back. She charged across the short grass, and deeply inhaled the scents of the wild and the chatter of unseen prey. She didn't stop to hunt, she just continued to run. As she crossed the moor, with her blue-gray fur blowing in the wind, she stopped at the edge of a stream, letting the wind catch up with her, and slowing to drink from the clean cool water. As she looked up, her eyes narrowed at the challenge she was soon to overcome. A mountain, rugged and gray stood before her. Larger than anything she had seen before, she was going to run like the wind up to the top. She set paw on the icy cold stone and shuddered. The stone was like ice, but no challenge was too great. She began to climb. It was still dark. The sun had yet to rise. Oh, if her Clanmates ever found out about all this she'd be....but there was no time to consider that possibility. She climbed onwards, she didn't have much time before the dawn patrol would leave, and they noticed her absence, so she had to move quickly. Jumping from rock to rock, the she-cat decided that up here, in the crisp morning air was far better than any life in her Clan. From now on she walked her own path, separate from her old Clan, but she prayed StarClan watch over her anyway, although that may be an obsolete hope at this point. It didn't matter though. Climbing ever higher, she began to feel hunger, like a thorn in her belly. She alerted her senses, and quickly caught a mouse who was scuffling about behind some rocks, looking for food no doubt. She swallowed it quickly, and on impulse thanked StarClan for the meal, then continued her journey. Deciding walking was getting old, she broke into a run, speeding up the side of the mountain. As she approached the peak, the sun began to rise. A golden glow lit the sky, turning it from the inky black of night to the brilliant blue of day. The snow sparkled beneath the light. As the she-cat felt the sun's warmth on her blue pelt, all her senses told her that she had found her home at last.
I think I'll write more of this later, maybe some backstory, but for now please enjoy this!
