Moss clamped between her teeth, Tawnypaw pushed her way through the entrance to the Elder's den. Once inside she stopped to observe her surroundings. The den was small and lit with various shafts of light that warmed Tawnypaw's fur and gave her a comforting sense of mind. She bent over and laid the wad of moss on the ground in front of her paws. "Hello? I'm here to replace your bedding." She meowed.

Thymepaw had seen Tawnypaw disappear into the elder's den, and knowing that it was a large space, had thought she might try to help. Besides that, she wanted to see if Leopardripple was around. Following after Tawnypaw, Thymepaw entered the den and smiled. It seemed fairly empty. "Mind if I help?" She asked conversationally, already scraping together the dirty moss.

Tawnypaw turned and looked at the brown-and-white tabby through cool leaf-green eyes. "No I don't mind." She replied and smirked a bit to herself as she found that the she-cat had already began to collect the soiled moss. The tortoiseshell really didn't mind however she welcomed the help and enjoyed her fellow apprentices company. "I'm Tawnypaw. You are?" She asked the green-eyed she-cat before turning her attention to the nearest nest.

Thymepaw's smile widened as her help was accepted. She probably would have continued working either way, but it was nice to know she was welcome. She had very few friends, and was eager to meet apprentices her own age. "Thank you!" The light tabby purring, rolling her bundle into a tight ball.
"Tawnypaw? Taw-Taw," she decided with a quick giggle. She always gave nicknames to the cats she met, every one of them. "My name is Thymepaw, like the herb. It's nice to meet you."

"Um yeah hehe...I actually prefer just Tawnypaw." She was quick to flash Thymepaw a light smile, afraid of the possibility of hurting the tabby she-cat's feelings. "Yes I'm familiar with the herb, and it's nice to meet you as well." Tawnypaw giggled. She removed a strip of moss from the wad she had collected earlier that day and pressed it into the bracken with her paw.

"No? Hmmm, I'll have to think of something else then," the tabby decided with a nod. She was ok with that rejection, but it was simply her obsessive nature that made her feel like every friend needed a nickname. "Are you nearly a warrior as well, Tawny?" She asked, kicking back the last of her dirty moss out of the den. Taking from moss, she began weaving alongside Tawnypaw.

Tawnypaw patched the last section of the nest with moss before replying, "Yes, I'm very close to becoming a warrior." She closed her eyes briefly and imagined racing through the prairies along side fellow warriors instead of stuck in camp patching nests. After a minute she blinked her leaf-green eyes opened and sighed wishfully. If only.

Thymepaw stepped back and looked over her work critically. She thought some extra feathers might have been nice to keep the elders warm, but otherwise it looked good. "Maybe we'll become apprentices together? It'll be nice to get my name beside a friend." Thymepaw mused hopefully with a smile.
