(Ugh, I'm so sorry for the late reply. '>>) Rowansky's eyes shone with mirth as she said, "Don't we all? At first, all we ever see are the cute little balls of fluff running around, and the next thing you know, it's like your eyes are heavier than a rock sinking in a river." And in the young queen's case, that was exactly what she felt after a multitude of sunrises had passed. "But, we do it for them, don't we?" The friendly atmosphere between the pair was most delightful, and Rowansky was glad that she had met yet another queen from a different clan that was willing to converse. On the other paw, @itssnowleaf wasn't so keen on doing the same. "Relax, my friend. There is no weakness in socializing, particularly not with other queens. Especially someone new to the job like yourself." The orange-pelted cat blinked in mild surprise. Apparently, she wasn't the only one new to the experience of being a mother. Rowansky maintained a peaceful smile, although her normally very confident disposition was making it rather difficult not to engage in a heated moment with Dawnblaze. "How have you been, Rowansky?" Her green eyes switched back to Spidermask, and she nodded her head. "I've been fine, thank you. A little bit tired, but nothing I won't be able to handle, I'm sure. And what about you, Spiderleaf?" Beside the seasoned queen, her younger counterpart had nestled herself near, presumably more complacent now than before, although her scathing words still hung in the air, "Whatever, Spiderleaf. I suppose we should just open up our borders and let them march into our camp, shall we?" Rowansky bit down on her tongue to prevent from retaliating. Her verdant orbs searched the crowd momentarily for any sign of her sister, Lightfall, before turning back to Spiderleaf.

Ghostpaw's tail twitched nervously, the tip stirring faint patterns in the dust. He chewed on his tongue before he repeated what he had mouthed aloud. Just a little closer. he thought, glancing at the bushes to his right. He knew Finchpaw was flanking Cloverstar in there somewhere, but boy was she taking her sweet time whilst he squirmed.
"Ah, do you know when the Gathering starts?" He asked, flattening his ears to his scalp and giving her a shy, modest smile. Hurry up, hurry up. For once he was not his perceiving self. He did not notice Cloverstar's limp, or her clumsiness or her out-of-place manner. All he felt was minuscule. Apprentices weren't really made for talking to leaders. Nor ambushing them. It may have been his idea, but it still felt like a bad one

you're always looking at far away places
can't you look at me? spider leaftagged (@itssnowleaf, Rowansky) | | notes (don't let it worry you!)
Spiderleaf laughed, her eyes narrowing as peals continued ringing from her body. "That is more accurate than anything I can contribute," she admitted, still puffing and giggling slightly. "We do it for them, and we watch them grow and pass us by. It's when they come back, that we are truly rewarded," the queen murmured quietly with the smallest nod of her head. Watching children grow to be apprentices, then warriors as she had before them, was the greatest pleasure she had ever known. Even more so than spending time with each and every one of them in the nursery.
Dawnblaze's attitude was something Spiderleaf had come to expect, and she cared for the grouchy queen in her own way, but there was no reason Rowansky had to stand similar treatment. So far Spiderleaf was in complete awe of the Iceclan queen's restraint in the face of Dawnblaze's ire, though she tried not to show it for the sake of her clanmate. An apology was probably in order, but the patched she-cat felt it would be better given at the end of the night. "I really don't think allowing a queen to visit our camp would bring about the end of the world," Spiderleaf remarked patiently with a flick of her tail, slight exasperation in her gaze. It seemed that the line of conversation was getting on both Rowansky's and Dawnblaze's nerves now.
Her attempts at distraction proved fruitful though, and she turned back to the conversation with relief. "In the past few moons I've found myself with three apprentices, since the nursery was empty and the apprentice den full." Spiderleaf admitted with a chuckle, it made her tired even remembering. "I'm honestly still recovering from that exhaustion. But take my word for it, when you welcome tiredness as a part of queen life, it becomes much easier to function with it." Shaking her head, Spiderleaf crinkled her nose. Usually a gathering would have started by now, and it wasn't the warmest weather that night. It still seemed like there were some rather important faces missing. "Are you the only Iceclan queen here tonight?" She asked curiously, trying to remember the names of those she had not met.

open | ◀ | nothing burns like cold ❤ Quillfoot looked away, feeling hollow and thin, as if he might shatter. He'd only just met his mother, and now this. One moon discovered, the next dead. He shouldn't have left Fireclan, perhaps he could have done something, helped her. The regret hit him hard and fast, even as he tried to banish it. He was an Iceclan cat, he had been miserable in Fireclan. Firelight had died of old age, even if he had stayed, there was nothing he could have done. It was a pathetic attempt at consolation, but it was all he had. There was no one else to turn to.
"Thankyou, Cheetahfur. I am in your debt," he murmured softly, with an agonized dip of his head. Unable to handle any further conversation with the similarly mourning cat, concerning his mother or otherwise, the scarred tom turned away. He padded a few steps slowly, then faster in his haste to put space between himself and everyone else. All he craved was emptiness, so that he could be empty too. Settling himself down, the young tom allowed his head to drop, and wished for nothing more than the gathering to end.

"It's fine, don't be silly," Thymepaw reassured her new friend with a shake of her head and a broad smile. If anything, it was probably Freezepaw that was due to apologize, for interrupting their conversation. Afraid that her new friend was now upset, Thymepaw frowned, then her eyes widened. "Three deaths? That is terrible! How did it happen?"

Cheetahfur opened her mouth and stepped forward, as if she was going to race after Quillfoot, but decided not to. She sighed and turned away, trying to bury her grief in the excitement of the gathering. The spotted she-cat padded into the middle of the clearing. She looked around, trying to spot anyone else she knew.

doesn't it feel like we're falling ❝ and bramble just floated in like yasssss.I followed in after my clanmates, intention of doing nothing sitting in my mind. I wasn't very interested in the subjects of speech, but i had come along any who. Going to a gathering was an honor, right? Floating around aimlessly, I managed to sneak a peek of my uh-- friend? Was that an appropriate word for him? Well, it would have to be for now. I wandered over, curious to what could be bringing the cat down, if my perception of his feelings were correct at least. "Quill? Uh, you okay, bud?"us the gods with broken wings

The white and tabby cat had to strain her ears to hear Ghostpaw's question, only barely catching it. She tried not to scowl. Was he being too quiet, or was the Gathering just that loud? Or maybe the fall had taken out some of her hearing. She didn't know at this point.
She took several more long steps, right near the bushes. "Er." She wasn't sure how to reply to his question, given that she didn't know, either. Not that she'd say so. "I believe it'll begin when...the other leaders arrive. But we may have to start without them if they don't show up soon enough."
That was a stupid answer, and she knew it. How long would they have to wait before deciding to start? What if they came in while they were starting it, and took offense? But she didn't really think too much about her answer. This Gathering looked like it'd be a short one anyway.

| ◀ | nothing burns like cold ❤ "Bramblethorn?" Quillfoot murmured blankly, lifting his head to stare at the tom. He realized briefly that it had been some time since he'd seen his old friend. "Yeah I'm....." He trailed off and paused in consideration. He was fine, that was what he was going to say. But he didn't feel fine. His body quivered subtly.
"I'm not okay." The mottled tabby finally whispered, dropping his head and leaning forward towards Bramblethorn.

Dawnblaze mumbled something grumpily and she turned to face Rowansky. "Fine. I apologize. You're not a monster, even if you do belong to IceClan. Happy now?" she meowed, turning to look at Spiderleaf. She flicked her ear at the last part of Spiderleaf's speech. "I don't think I'll ever be able to accept tiredness." She complained, twitched her tail. "A few nights ago one of my kittens bit into my ear. It hurt!" she wailed, sounding like a distressed kitten with a thorn in their pad.

The silver she cat was happy that Thymepaw didn't become angry at all."The first one,I don't know exactly how Waspwing died. The second one,Littlepool I don't remember well too.But the last one was the most terrible of them. Skywing killed Greenflare. However, he was exiled.I don't think that He deserves to stay in Treeclan" Featherpaw said calmly but with a little of sadness in her voice

Thymepaw's eyes continued to widen and darken, sadness taking over. There was so much death lately. Did it mean something, or where they just unlucky? She hated it. Absolutely hated it. "I'm sorry for your loss," was all that she managed, hanging her head. "We also, have experienced death. One of our elders, Firelight, died recently as well." The apprentice admitted.
Deciding this was far too somber for a gathering, Thymepaw sighed. "I'm sure there are happier things to be talking about, Stranger." She purred weakly. "What is Treeclan like? I've never seen past the border."

Finchpaw watched in anticipation as Cloverstar took hertime coming towards the bushes. When the tabby patched leader did, the female crouched down and followed the larger she-cat quietly. When Cloverstar finally stopped moving, the tabby-calico apprentice crouched into a pouncing position, deciding to let Ghostpaw finished his question. Gosh, why is he so nervous? He's just asking a stupid question.
Right before Cloverstar finished speaking, she jumped out of the bushes with an excited whoop. She aimed her leap for the leader's side, hoping to barrel her over, a grin spreading across her face. She, too, had not noticed Cloverstar's limp or the state she was in, and had no idea what would really happen.
