Maplefrost woke up from a particularly long nap, yawned loudly, and padded over to Windflurry. They hadn't really spoken recently and he had no idea why.
"Haaaaayy Windflurry. Wake up," meowed the calico as he breathed old cat fish-breath in his mate's face.

The elder awoke from a small nap and glanced over at Maplefrost. "Hey Maplefrost." She yawned and gave a small stretch. "What's up?" She cocked her head.

"Great, you're awake," purred Maplefrost. He sat down and grinned faintly. "I was just bored, really - I haven't seen Redstorm for some time now, and we don't get a lot of visitors. Although there was that one kit a few days ago. Did you hear me telling her the story about that snake we fought?"

"Redstorm come and goes as he pleases, it seems." She shrugged. "Oh I might of overheard. I've been sleeping a lot so maybe not.." She cocked her head. "Hmm.. I remember that day.. We made a good team! That snake didn't stand a chance." She laughed.

"Hope he hasn't gone and fallen into a ravine or something. I don't think his vision is what it used to be." He furrowed his brow in concern, but decided that Redstorm could probably take care of himself.
"Well, it was pretty tough, but it stopped putting up a fight once you munched it in half. A cat biting a snake... pretty ironic, huh?" Maplefrost chuckled. He still bore the marks of the snake's fangs on one of his forelegs, but they were growing faint by now.
