It was a long day of being out in the territory, remarking the border lines and lazing in the cooling breeze. Well, not that long, but the senior was out of the den for quite some time, and making his way back into the warm den made him purr.
Walking to his bed, the tom sniffed the moss and frowned. Someone was sleeping here recently, but since he did not know everyone's scents yet, he could not yet accuse anyone, so he simply flopped himself in the bedding and curiously eyed the den, seeing if anyone was present.

Sandstep lifted her chin as she noticed another warrior had entered the den. "Is it cold out yet?" It was a ridiculous question yet she felt the need to ask. The pale she cat shook away the thought and wondered who this tom was. She couldn't recall meeting him but her mind didn't always play along with her. "What's your name? I'm Sandstep." Her sand-colored eyes looked at him with curiosity, revealing the reason she had been given the "sand" part of her name. Though her long fur didn't resemble it at all. Sand wasn't as soft as her long fur but maybe her eyes was all that was needed for a name.

Hearing the voice of another cat, the tom's first instinct was to believe that the stranger was the culprit, and his neck fur slightly bristled forth.
"It's a bit windy, if I were to comment on the weather." he said, giving a small smile to the pale she-cat. "I'm Crowwing, and it's a pleasure to be in your presence, Sandstep."
The name rang a slight bell, and then he remembered that he probably attended her apprentice ceremony, back when she was Sandkit going onto Sandpaw.

Sandstep noticed how he reacted to her and flicked her tail tip gently but managed to listen to him either way. She flicked her ear with a thought running through her head. It's windy...
"Are you all right there? You seemed a little... irritated." Sandstep wondered exactly what had made his fur bristle. "And, the pleasure is mine," She added simply to the tom when he said it was a pleasure to be in her presence.

He shook his head, realizing that Sandstep did notice his uneasiness. "Oh, no. Nothing's the bother. It's just that someone was in my bed earlier, but I can't seem to figure out who." He shrugged, letting it go. "Or maybe I'm just in the wrong bed, but this is mine now."
He noticed the way that her eyes added definition to her coat color. Sandstep. Interesting. "So, how's it like? Being a warrior now? You weren't one for long, have you? My apologizes if you actually are, I'm just not updated with who I'm sharing the den with."

Why would someone be in his bed? She blinked at the thought and twitched her whiskers. Well, at least he has a bed now. Sandstep listened to him as he changed the subject toward her being a warrior.
"Well, for one thing it's not as exciting to me. When I was an apprentice I always had things going on. Training one moment and then the next hanging with buds talking about training." Smooth. Was training all I ever did? She wondered to herself. "And no I haven't been one for too long. Just a few moons." The pale she cat wondered if he thought this was a long time but she seemed to take notice he was a senior warrior so maybe it wasn't for him.

He listened as Sandstep explained her apprenticeship and though training was an important task, it was like her life simply revolved around that subject.
"Yes, apprentice life seems to have always been more exciting than warriorhood, doesn't it? Or that's what almost everyone says. Have you introduced yourself to a number of warriors yet? Not the ones you knew prior to the ceremony, but after that is."

Giving a shake of her head Sandstep said, "No I haven't met too many of the warriors here. I know some but most of my friends... former friends... were apprentices. They are hardly there." She didn't get the point of it. Making new friends after leaving the old? It was a hard concept for her to think about but nonetheless it was what had to be. Maybe one day she will meet up with them again. Who knows?
And the pale she cat's life did revolve around training, so maybe that's why she hardly knew anyone. Pretty pathetic of her, and who was there to say otherwise? Nobody. That's just the point. She didn't do anything besides train in those days and now it's here to stick in her fur like a thorn.

"What do you mean that they were 'hardly there'?" he asked, quoting a few of her words. Hedid not get it. Were they still apprentices? He did not know.
"So. Tell me about yourself, Sandstep. I like learning about my clanmates, so feel free to just tell me anything about yourself."

Sandstep looked up without surprise at his question. "I mean that they seem to be very distant as in we don't talk much anymore and they don't seem to be around camp quiet as often. I suppose I could have worded that differently but oh well. You live and you learn."
His next request was interesting to her so she replied with, "Well I try to be smart and creative, and I'm a fast runner. Though it depends on how you look at it, I'm a bit iffy when it comes to working with others- especially if they try to boss me around. It's never fun working with cats like that." She wondered what he was like, but waited to hear his response first.
