The avoidable was rapidly growing into the inevitable. She had felt it deep down at some point. When? She was rather unsure. Yet, she felt it. She was positive that she did. Well, at least she is now positive of it.
Broken Shadow was lost, completely, and 100% totally l-o-s-t.
Perhaps one should not be setting foot in a territory she was not familiar with, did she care? No, not really. There was not much that Broken Shadow cared about these days, it was odd, skeptical even, this numbness that trapped her within a dark void inside her head was rather peculiar, though, she did her best to ignore it. However, sometimes the numbness that she felt was more to her benefit than her suffering, it protected her just as much as it taunted her and over the years, she'd grown use to the taunting and teasing of her own raspy voice lingering inside her head; who knocked at her closed-off mind. Of course, Broken did not let her new, uh, feelings affect others, she'd never do anything that would potentially be considered a burden, she didn't like being a bother and nor did she like others worrying about her. It made her feel weak and helpless, feelings that she would not tolerate. But that was because she was stubborn. She refused to accept that sometimes when you are stuck in a ominous limbo, the best thing for you is to have someone reach in and pull you out, she considered help a sign of weakness. Although, the elle would act bonkers just to scare off other wolves.
Broken's head was hung low as she walked, bi-colored eyes fixed on the grass beneath her feet with each long and slow stride she took, a somber and almost dejected look glistening over her eyes, though, that was usually her default expression; the look of someone who his troubled but she almost seems content with it, unfazed by her uncanny self. How did she end up here? She wasn't sure. All she knew was she had been trying to run in an attempt to escape where she had once been, where she had felt as though she couldn't breath and was suffocating under a heavy weight upon her shoulders. Now she was just plain out annoyed.
As Broken Shadow continued to wander further into the unknown territory, she felt that the further she wondered, the calmer she felt, this place had an peaceful aura about it and that made the wolf curious as to why that was. Not only that but the she-wolf could feel the lingering sensation of another presence, like there were eyes watching her with every step she took but she assumed that it was just her mind playing tricks on her, it was notorious for doing that.
Having yet to look up and examine her surroundings, too focused on her thoughts and everything else that troubled her, Broken Shadow was unaware of the pool of water in the way of her path, though, she had noted how the texture of the terrain beneath her paws had become dense, the grass lush and cool to the touch, it was a rather soothing sensation and the idea of laying down among the vegetation was almost a little too tempting. That was, until the grass that Broken's paws once tread upon disappeared, sending the wolf slipping forward and into the pool with the grace of an elephant, landing face first within its depths rather abruptly and as quickly as she'd fallen in there, Broken Shadow clambered backwards and out of the pool of water, the fur that covered her face and majority of the underside of her neck sodden with water.
With a splutter and sudden, raspy cough, the wolf shook out her head and neck in an attempt to rid what little of the water she could from her black coat, a displeased and slightly irritable huff leaving her lips as he plonked herself down open her haunches, wide bi-colored eyes staring at the pool of water in confusion, watching its surface ripple from the disruption she had caused the once calm, unstirred liquid. But she was quickly distracted by the cold air nipping at the drenched parts of her fur. "That came out of nowhere..." Broken Shadow murmured to herself with means of trying to make herself feel less guilty about her clumsiness, though, her mind was quick to wander from her previous trip, her thoughts drifting onto the location she had come to find herself in. "I wonder what's out here..."
