Stormfrost nodded. "Of course. But there are other possibilities like Whirlpool." He couldn't really think of any other.

I nodded. "Yeah but it's up to Darkstar, isn't it? I wonder what name she'll give me." Yes I know that I'm only a kit still but that doesn't mean I can't be thinking of cool warrior names. Don't all kits go through this phase? And even apprentices might think of warrior names... Well, they get their's sooner anyway so why not?

[Stormfrost]

Stormfrost thought for a moment before saying, "Yes she gives up our name, but if we have a preferred name she usually takes that into account when giving us a ceremony."

When he told me this I was surprised to hear it. Darkstar would take our opinion into account? Or does she just give us another name and Stormfrost's playing fast and loose with the truth? I honestly couldn't tell. "That's cool. I hope she gives me a good name, whatever she chooses."

[Stormfrost]

He felt like it was his turn again to come up with another topic for he couldn't carry on with the previous one. "Um. What do you think will be easier to learn? Battle or hunting?"

I thought for a moment. "I don't know. Battle I guess?" To be honest I really had no idea at all.

[Stormfrost]

Stormfrost flicked his tail with curiosity. "What makes you say battle?" He asked, questioning the kit's idea.

And of course... Stormfrost had to ask me a question that would make me need to think. "I think because of how hunting will place pressure on me trying to feed my clan and battle will just mean I can protect it without the limit of prey from time to time."

[Stormfrost]

Stormfrost was very interested in how this kit thought and said, "Seems reasonable. Hunting and battle have many similarities."[/b]

I looked puzzled at the older tom. "How so?"

[Stormfrost]

"You have to attack prey like you attack enemies. And you have to defend prey from scavengers like you defend your clan from enemies." He hoped this would be a good enough explanation.

I hadn't thought of that... not much anyway. "Have you had apprentices yet?" I asked, wondering if he had ever thought of being a mentor.

[Stormfrost]

Stormfrost nodded. "Several in fact. Icepaw and Flarepaw are my current apprentices who are who knows where. And Sandstep, Ottetrfuzz, Ivyleaf and Ashfire are my former apprentices."

So many apprentices... "Why did you have so many apprentices?" I asked him.

Stormfrost shook his head. "I don't know. It was just something to pass the time with." He chuckled with a small smile.
