Duskbreeze padded into the warriors' den, the she-cat's muscles still stiff from the previous night. Being a new warrior, tradition demanded she do the warrior's vigil. It had been ghostly, an icy silence in the camp. Wow, her muscles were sore. The night had been surprisingly cool for newleaf, but she really didn't know why she had been so surprised. Weren't most nights chilly after all? She wondered what comment Turtlepaw would make. She missed him. He was super sweet and kind to her.
At least it won't be long until he joins me in the warriors' den, she reassured herself.
Her muscles were even more sore as she collapsed in a heap in her nest, silently thanking the soft moss and the crackly bracken. The bracken crunched as the she-cat nonchalantly rearranged her limbs in a somewhat elegant position and wrapped her tail around her paws, curling into a tight ball. She started to drift into a deep slumber, her long ebony lashes fluttering shut, blocking her view of the world she was in now.
A sudden disturbance disrupted her from her sleep, and she peered around to see the cause of her awakening.
"H-hi?" the she-cat meowed, her voice masked with shyness.

Briarpelt was curled up in her bed, growling. "Hello?" She hissed, her green eyes glowing in the dark corner.

"Hi." Duskpaw repeated hesitantly. "What's your name? I'm Duskbreeze."
