Panting slightly, Drought hurried into the main clearing. He'd just witnessed something rather disturbing. This 'something' was a thing that his entire Clan would need to know about, pronto. Their lives would be on the line if they didn't listen to him.
The black-and-white tom leaped onto the rotting stump from which he usually made announcements, then let out a loud summoning yowl. "DeathClan! Gather to hear what I have to say!" He proceeded to dig his claws impatiently into the stump while he waited for his cats to gather. This was quite an urgent matter.

With the growing chills in the air and the disappearing of the leaves from the trees, Artemis had been preparing accordingly for the leafbare the weather was heralding. She had stocked a supply of prey in the back of her den, useful for when hunting would become difficult, and gathering moss and feathers for her nest.
Maybe this leafbare would be more forgiving, but she doubted it. None of the ones she'd been through had been anything less than harsh at the very least.
It wasn't helped by the impending rumors she'd heard about new forces posed to attack, threats, the works. Not very reassuring.
That day found her foraging for more moss when her good ear picked up on it. Drought's voice, in all its unmistakably loud glory. Artemis exhaled before picking up the moss she'd taken in her mouth and turning to walk towards the clearing. She could only wonder what this announcement would be about now.
She trotted into the clearing and brushed some fallen leaves off a flat rock before sitting down on it, placing the moss beside her. "Drought," she greeted, inclining her head. "This was rather unexpected. The news you have to say..."
Artemis paused, and worry visibly creased her face. "...It's not good, is it?"

"This better be important.. I was just going for a hunt" muttered a tom mostly to himself as the brown warrior padded out of the trees and bushes. His forest green eyes staring up at the leader as he slashed his tail from side to side, thats when he heard Artemis and then frowned as he blinked and sat slowly. Bad news was never good news unless it was that Rockclan and Treeclan were all dead.
"Well, spit it out whats got your tail in a bundle?"

Badger arrived as quickly as he could. At this point hearing bad news from Drought was becoming a hobby. That and giving him bad news. He seemed to be rather early, with only two other cats there. He knew one well, Artemis. She was nice. The other, Vaughn, had a different reaction from Badger. The grey tabby frowned and rolled his eyes at him as he walked into the clearing.
"Shut up, Vaughn. If you were so annoyed by this, you shouldn't have come." He muttered as he walked past him, sitting besides Artemis and Drought. "Oh mighty Drought, what bad news has come upon Deathclan this time? Is it a plague? I heard those are fun." He asked, giving the black and white leader a cheeky grin.

Oh yay. Drought was actually calling a Clan meeting. That was a first for Arrow. The brown-white tabby exited her den in silence, swallowing the last of her meal before making her way to the voices. I hope I'm making you proud, father. As much as I'd prefer to be killing something right now I'm going to listen to my leader's rambling.
Moments later the youngling walked into the crowd. What is it Drought? She thought.

Vex happened to be relaxing in the lower branches of a pine tree when she heard Drought's call to order. Well, best not keep her leader waiting. She leaped down to the ground and broke into a trot. It only took her a few moments to reach the clearing. Quite a few cats had already gathered; the grey tabby youngling chose to sit near the back of the group, in order to avoid drawing the attention of the royals. She just wanted to hear what the black-and-white cat had to say, then go off on her own again. Judging by his worried expression... whatever Drought had on his mind wouldn't be good.

Already had my life turned upside down I ride a downward spiral round and round* * * * * * * * * * * * * * Sevenfold trotted into the clearing where the other cats stood. It had been nearly a week since she had killed a fox with Drought. Her wounds were healing quite nicely and she looked up at her black and white leader. Something was wrong. She could feel it. Her eyes gazed over the bickering warriors and she rolled her eyes. Vex, Arrow, Badger, Artemis, and Vaughn had come to the call. This was the most cats she'd seen in a while.
"Drought, what is going on?"
She watched carefully, her brown and white speckled pelt rippling at the thought of a fight or something along that line. Her eyes watched Drought carefully.

Keira ran for the clearing where about half of Deathclan stood. She'd never seen this many deathclanners in one area. Something was up. Something big. She looked at Sevenfold and stood beside her listening to Drought. Her voice joined Sevenfold's in her cry.
"Drought what is going on?" She asked, her eyes wide with excitement.
(Ugh lazy sorry)

Metallica slunk into camp before looking at the ever growing crowd of warriors. He cocked his head before trotting over. He heard fighting between two adults and he rolled his eyes. They could wait, this is ridiculous. A she-cat seemed to care about the black and white leaders feelings. Two she-cats standing side by side, one brown one creamy yellow, called out about what was happening. He looked at the ever silent Vex and walked over to stand by him. The only one not calling out towards Drought. Metallica dipped his head at Vex and looked up towards Drought. He seemed in distress, but Metallica didn't know what about yet. His yellow eyes looked around and his multicolored pelt rippled with excitement.

Riley was pacing around the camp when a gathering of plentiful cats caught her eye. She thought it would be important if that many cats were there, therefore, the ginger feline stepped cautiously towards them and sat behind them at the very back, keeping her distance. I wonder what's happening... She thought to herself.

Ash walked to the clearing quickly, seeing that Drought was tired, and yet calling a clan meeting. The tabby found a nice area, and sat with a clear view of Drought, silently asking, What's going on? The youngling then asked out loud, "Is something wrong? What is it, Drought?" she then growled, I bet it has to do with those clan cats!

Twisted heard the calling of her leader and came quickly as she Could. She wasn't the first there, one of the last in fact. The other felines of Deathclan already swarmed the stump Drought stood on. Twisted moved her way up to the front for a better view, shoving aside older felines and making her way to a nice spot.
"Has something happened?" She asked her leader softly, he most likely couldn't have heard her with the other felines screeching questions. Her ears started to lay low against her head, wouldn't they hush for the slightest moments? A cat had bumped her side as another one yowled in her ear. She crouched down, away from the commotion.
Another voice chimed in, asking what the leader wanted. A on annoyed snarl twisted up her face as she just crouched below the mass of cats arguing and calling out to their leader in panic. One feline was complaining about Drought's request to the clan, another scolding them, others just mewing and fighting their way up to the front. Twisted huffed.

It took a little while for a decent amount of cats to gather. What, were most DeathClanners hibernating or something? At least they'd bothered to drag themselves out of their dens and show up. Now there were roughly a dozen felines clustered around his rotting tree stump. Many were causing a ruckus by asking what the matter was, while a few others stayed silent and simply listened. One of the cats in particular, the peasant named Vaughn, started complaining until Badger got him to shut up. Good; Drought didn't have time to discipline this idiot himself.
"DeathClan, the river running through our forest has been poisoned! I went there this morning and saw dead fish everywhere on the bank. As I watched, a squirrel went to get a drink and died within minutes. The water itself smells... strange. Toxic." He paused for several heartbeats, both to let this news sink in and to recollect his thoughts.
"Something must be done. I need several of you to travel upstream and see what's causing this to happen. I suspect that Twolegplace may hold some answers; the river does begin there. Are there any volunteers?" Drought would need to stay in DeathClan's territory and keep order, but he also needed an investigation to take place. Hopefully, at least one royal would speak up; he didn't want a peasant leading this little group.
| Yes, you're signing up in-character for this plot. I'll choose the cats who will go to investigate within the next few days, to give everyone a chance to respond. Please make it clear in your post if you wish to volunteer. Thanks~ |

Ash frowned, "Drought?" she said loudly. "If you allow me to go, I'd wish to risk anything of me to do anything to help DeathClan," she said, feeling as if she was signing a death contract. Did I do the right thing? Well who cares besides me of my life, at least I hope I'd be doing something helpful. The young peasant looked around nervously, expecting cats to make fun of her, or try to push her out of talking.

Twisted hissed in anger as another cat scrambled over her. But the news was broken - their only water source was intoxicated. "I shall go, if you wish for me to," she meowed, loud enough for the large tom to hear. But she felt slightly nervous, like she would make a mistake.
Twisted fumbled over a couple felines so she had her own tiny area, in Drought's view. What were her chances of being one of the honorable felines to do some of Deathclan's 'dirty work'?
