Riley looked around, "I'll go too." She would do anything to help her clan.

Twisted's gaze was drawn to the peasant who called out that she would go. At some point at least one royal would be going.. Right? They needed a royalty to go, Drought didn't trust the peasants like the royals.. It was not fair to Twisted, but she learned to live with it.
It was terrible how the water source got intoxicated. It was one of the clan's only sources of water besides puddles of rain and mud from the swamp..

"So some dirty old meat sacs are harming our river?" He cocked his head as he heard the announcement. "Pffft.. What's new. Those twolegs are always causing issues." He sat down. When he heard Drought ask for volunteers the blue-gray tomcat raised a 'brow' and flicked his tail. "I'll go, just to keep the peace." or not to... same thing.. He thought solemnly to himself and eyed his leader. He'd been on quite a few DeathClan missions in his day and he wouldn't mind reliving the thrill once more if Drought decided he could go. He would try not to miss out.
He was also pretty familiar with the twoleg area having been there countless times. He'd managed to become moderately familiar with the area. He flicked an ear and watched the rest of the crowd holler their I dos.

'DeathClan! Gather to hear what I have to say!' The cry of her leader rang into her delicate ears, and she purred, glad that there was finally a meeting going on. Unfortunately, she was in the middle of a wash, and it was a rather long cycle. She fell into the bogs previously and to present herself in such a mess in front of everyone else was just unacceptable in her standards.
Though her attempts were praised, the tabby showed up to the meeting late, hearing the last of Drought's words. To travel upstream and find out the cause of something. To head near the Twolegplace. Dove's spine chilled a bit and she remained in the back, watching as some cats volunteered to make the journey to such a dangerous place. They could be taken as prey by the Twolegs!
"It seems like a waste, not making the journey." she mumbled mainly to herself. "If it's a concern of the clan a large number of cats should participate." She did not even know what they were referring to, but if Drought was planning a search party, she would be willing to give her services to investigate.

Artemis watched with quiet interest as more and more cats filed into the clearing. This was the most crowded she'd seen it in quite a while. She gave a nod of greeting to several she recognized, including Badger as he sat down next to her. However, her attention was quickly drawn to Drought's announcement.
Her good ear pricked as she listened. Of course, it was worse than she thought it would be. Poison in the river? Now that was truly something more worrisome than attacking cats or pests as she'd anticipated. It was one thing to deal with living creatures. It was entirely another to deal with something as out of the blue as this.
She frowned slightly as she heard the ensuing volunteering after Drought's question, mostly coming from younger cats with little to no actual experience. She knew the Twolegplace well; it was impossible not to after having spent several moons scraping by in it. Artemis still had some scars to prove it.
"I would be glad to go," she said firmly, making her voice loud and clear. "I have been in the Twolegplace long enough to know where to go within it, Drought. I could find the source for all of this, provided I find the routes as well as I remember them."

"Fox Hunter is ready for a challenge Drought."
Sevenfold meowed up at him and stood proudly. She'd be able to make him proud. She knew she could.

Vaughn frowned "I could go for a bit of a exploring trip. I volunteer, this will also give myself a chance to finally prove myself. I'm not all that bitter, well I don't try to be at least." he said and watched cats around him also say that they would go. He blinked his forest green eyes as he noticed most were females They'll need the help anyway he thought.

Vex furrowed her cat-brow as she listened to this news. The river, poisoned? How would they get clean water now? Well, aside from the small springs and ponds throughout the forest. DeathClan's river was definitely the main source of water, for the cats and their prey alike. The grey tabby didn't want to think about what the consequences would be if this issue wasn't solved quickly.
She couldn't even imagine how or why the Twolegs would do a thing like this. Then again... they were Twolegs. Maybe the kittypets would have some answers regarding this crisis? It was a thought.
The youngling did not volunteer, however. There were already plenty of felines offering to go. Personally, Vex thought that it might be a good idea to stay in DeathClan's territory and do some investigating of her own. She made a note to talk with her leader about this when he was free.

Oh do not tell me the twolegs are trying to kill us off again. I'll gladly go and let them know how Deathclan deals with problems. he grinned, stepping out of the shadows. Thicket was waxing and waning in just duty to the clan. He had to do more in order for Deathclan to return to it's former glory! It would be achieved one way or another! If they took down a twoleg those bloody clans would be shaking in their fur like the rabbit hearts they were. It would truly be a great thing. Now about this river, they needed that water supply badly. Otherwise they'd be forced to attack the clans for some. With leafbare coming they could not afford to fight now. No, they had to solve this before it was too late.

| Alright, I tossed all the peasants in a random number generator to select who'd be going. Ashtail and Twisted will be accompanying Artemis, since she has the most knowledge of Twolegplace. I'll PM you detailed info about this plot soon; if you don't get a PM within 48 hours, please let me know. Proboards sometimes screws up with group messages. |
Drought watched as cats started volunteering left and right. It seemed that only a pawful had abstained. Well, he couldn't have everyone running out there and risking their necks. A small group would suffice. His gaze swept over two of the peasants in particular; he'd seen them around the territory here and there. They would be the ones to go.
Among the royals that volunteered, Artemis seemed like the best choice. She'd already said that she knew a lot about Twolegplace, which would be a big help. Getting lost in the maze of Twoleg nests and Thunderpaths wasn't going to solve this puzzle any faster.
"Very well. Artemis, take Ash and Twisted to investigate. If you find the source of the problem, see what you can do to fix it, but report back if it's too dangerous. I don't want any of you getting yourselves killed. Got it?"
The black-and-white cat glanced around at the others. "Everyone else, stay away from the river and don't drink water if it smells strange. I'll let you all know when things are back to normal." Drought flicked his tail and leaped down from his announcement perch, signaling that the meeting was at its end.
| I expect the three of you in particular to remain active until this plot's over. All other DeathClanners should remember that the river's poisoned while they're roleplaying in the territory. If a cat drinks the river water or eats prey that was poisoned by it, they'll get rather sick but won't die. Feel free to have a thread or two involving that. |

Of course, it was a given that DeathClanners continued to volunteer. Artemis waited patiently, resisting the urge to lash her tail. She wasn't going to say so aloud, but she did like the idea of a chance at getting outside DeathClan for a bit. She could do without the potential fights and drama that were always brewing somehow.
When Drought announced his choices and gave his instructions, she blinked once before dipping her head. "Of course, Drought," she replied placidly. "I'll make sure we will be back within a few days at most."
She glanced at the two cats he'd said to take with her. Ash and Twisted, a few of the volunteers. "Alright, let's go," she said. With that, she turned and left, now searching for the track of scent to the Twolegplace to follow.

Ash never realized until Drought looked at her. I'm going.. I'll help DeathClan. The peasant was slightly surprised, but dipped her head in respect. "Yes, Drought," she then looked at Twisted, her look-alike, then Artemis, the Royal that she never met, but seen familiar. Ash wondered what they'd find, but hoped it was an easy fix. The tabby looked back at the patrol's leader, then blinked. As seeing they went off, she followed close behind, taking a firm glance back at her clanmates, hoping she'd come back to see them, and most of all, her den.

Twisted let a grin wipe over her muzzle. Helping her 'clan' would make her feel more fit in, not to mention happier. "Very well the, Drought." She meowed. Her gaze was then drawn to the others who would be joining. Artemis and Ash. She nodded and made her way closer towards them.
