Watching winter claw it's way over the already cold surafce of Iceclan had come with great hesitance, a tension growing within the clan. This was Hawkkit's first winter, and so far it hadn't appeared to be as joyous as he once thought it would be. For one, everything was always wet. The food, the clearing, the den roofs, his moss bed, even his fur was sprinkled with the freezing water. He sat grudgingly at the entrance of the Nursery, tail coiled tightly around his front paws. To add to the look, his ears were pinned back against his head, away from the nip of icy winds. A bitter expression rested on his face. I just wanna nap, he thought sullenly. He wasn't in the slightest bit tired, however, the constant biting winds keeping his eyes frozen open. A shiver tickled down his spine and his hairs raised at the sensation, a low growl rumbling in his throat. Sighing, he scoped out the clearing from his position at the Nursery walls, looking for anything to pique his obvious unhappiness.

Owlkit having already met Hawkkit already knew of his temper, but despite this approached him often. Owlkit approached enjoying the cold, winter had always been shown to be quite enjoyable for him. Owlkit loved the cold and wet weather. He cheerfully marched up to Hawkkit and asked. "Why the long face

Hawkkit almost snorted at the arrival of Owlkit, but kept himself quiet out of the sheer fact he was bored as fish in a puddle. The other kit appeared to be enjoying the whipping winds, happily strolling towards Hawkkit as if the sun was beating down on his back. Honestly, he could've pounced on him right there, right now. But, you know, he intended to be given his apprentice rank in good behaviour, so he sat, a sad little wet kitty in amidst the snow. "You're enjoying this?" he snapped, giving Owlkit the stink-eye.

"Why wouldn't I?" Owlkit asked without losing an ounce of cheer. "The water is so clear in winter, and I was never much for extreme warmth." Owlkit explained without pause. Owlkit did not realize how annoyed Hawkkit was and so attempted to chat about various topics. Mice, water, winter in general.

He sighed. Of course Owlkit loved winter, because Owlkit was possibly one of the most irritating kitten he'd ever lain eyes on. The kit was impossible. Hawkkit actually smirked, humourless, more like a twist of his mouth than anything joyful. "Typical." he scoffed, chortling as his eyes rolled. "Gotta be even more annoying, haven't you?" he muttered, interrupting Owlkit's never ending speech about what could've been mice or something along those lines. His tail flicked in distaste as a fresh layer of snow began to float to the already blanketed grounds. He growled, again.

"If you hate snow so much you can always hide in a little burrow I just created." Owlkit replied to suddenly realizing how extreme Hawkkits mood was. It's over by those two trees. Owlkit motioned his tail towards two distinct snow covered pines, and a massive pile of dug up snow in between them.

Hawkkit glanced at rhe direction Owlkit's tail was motioning to, noticing the clearly upturned snow. He then looked back at Owlkit, waiting for the kit to say something annoying and put him off. But he stayed a silent, and for a moment Hawkkit did to, contemplating his options. He could either go into the Nursery and be ridiculously bored until the sun set, or he could test his own abilities and hang out with Owlkit. "Okay," he said, quietly, "But if it's cold, I'm out." he added. He then indicated for Owlkit to go first, twitching his nose towards the burrow. Let's see how much he could take of Owlkit. [Don't mean to make Hawkkit sound so nasty! haha, he's just a grump]

Owlkit almost jumped with excitement. "Don't worry, I put new moss in there." Owlkit bounded off, accidentally kicking up snow. [Its good rp. The grumpiness adds some interesting flavor.]

As he made his first step, a flurry of snow coated his fur as Owlkit began bounding off. His blood curdled and for menacing moment he thought he might snap, but he mentally forced himself to calm, beating down the anger for another time. God know's when that other time would be. Straightening his posture, he followed Owlkit in a slower saunter, a little excitement causing his spine to tick. "This better be good." he said curtly, asserting his dominance once again. He eyed Owlkit extensively, waiting for him to give him the grand tour. [Well when you say it like that it sounds great haha]

Owlkit arrived at his burrow, and peered in. It had remained dry, just like Owlkit knew it would. No snow, rain, or dampness had touched the burrow. It was beautifully lined with with green moss, and Owlkit had even managed to pin lichen at the top of the burrow so it hung over the entrance. Owlkit had dug about four feet diagnol into the ground. He took a step in and felt warmth. "Here you go. take a look." Owlkit said hopeful that hawkkit would be pleased.

"Hm, okay doke." Hawkkit sneered, a twinge of sarcasm entering his voice. Taking a single glance inside, he entered the burrow with one, fluid movement. "Whoa." he mumbled, eyes popping as he lapped up the sight of the burrow. "This must've took you a long time." He said, locking eyes with Owlkit before turning back to the warmth. This places was far from cold, and he couldn't even hide how impressed he was. He didn't think he'd ever have enough patience to create something so skilfully done. "This is amazing, Owlkit." he purred, slumping over as the shivers that had previously tremored his small form dissipated, leaving him resembling a snug puddle of cosiness on the burrow floor.

"It took just around four days to make this." Owlkit answered proud of his creation. "Is it really that good?" Owkit asked. " I hadn't tried it yet."

"It's so cool!" he mewed from his position on the floor, inhaling and exhaling deeply. He didn't think he'd find anymore relaxing. The heat was comparable to cuddling with his mother, and there was no sound besides their talking and breathing. Bliss. "You're an okay kit, Owlkit." he said, snorting at himself. He usually was not one to give up persona, but there was no chance in Deathclan that Owlkit would let him stay if he was mean again. So, leaving all Owlkit hate related things aside, he asked, "Are you excited to be an apprentice?"

"Yes!"Owlkit howled letting his energy, and excitement get the best of him by jumping once. "Are you?" He asked once he was calm again.

He chuckled a little at Owlkit's obvious excitement, stretching out on the burrow floor, a low purr rattling his chest. The warmth was so good. He squirmed slightly until he was by the wall, the moss causing tingle to run up and down his spine, a continues purr of pleasure echoing through the small den. "You won't believe how excited I am." he mewed, his voice gentle with relaxation. "I can't wait to go out into the forest." A yawn opened up his jaw, the sheer force of it causing him to be even more sleepy. He grinned at Owlkit.
